QUIZ RECAP

The philosopher Pontiles once said: "They who see the sun first shall see everything before everyone else." This quote is fake and made up and has nothing to do with the trivia that was played Tuesday night at HiDef Brewing, but I think it says a lot about the brain fight that was had on this fine eve. The "sun" here is victory. And those who saw it first were the winnners Team Down. Was there competition? Yes. Were there post-trivia dice game festivities? Quite. Did one team so dominate the room that everyone fell into awestruck silence whenever their name was uttered? Indubitably. Let's talk.

No Touching came in an unusual third place tonifght. No Touching? More like No Winning! AM I RIGHT? (Yes. Yes, I'm right.) Second place finisher Answerers Of Many Questions threw a curve ball all night by being one guy! You'd think with a name like Answerers there'd be at least two of 'em! Nope! Like a stote's strangely hypnotic dance before it eventually takes down its rabbit prey, so too did this second place team have us asking: "WHAT is he doing?" And handily achieving first place with a final score of five thousand three hundred points (53 points Canadian) was Team Down! More like Team UP, KNOW'M SAYN'?!

QUIZ RECAP

Obnoxious loads of fun were had at HiDef Brewing Company last night as loads of teams (5) threw their respective brains into the hat (you know, the large, proverbial hat that is all trivia contests) to once again take part in a brain fight to end all brain fights (well, not including all future brain fights) and release their collective smarty neurons across the room to pummel any and all opponents. Was it fun? You bet your thesaurus it was! Let's talk!

To any quizmasters who officiate for the team No Touching: If you ever forget their name, they will remind you by saying: "No touching!" Like, they say their name often over the course of the quiz. It's helpful and a great deterrent to enemies--and friends too maybe. Sometimes they say it and they're NOT saying their team name.

Dominating the night for all 48 marbles (points) was Return Of The Wack. "Return" suggests we've met before, but I have no recollection. Hopefully they won't wack me for that.

Alan The Bartender put his foot down. "The Ex-Presidents Are Surfers!!!" must earn at least 33 points to get their free drinks. So say I, so say all!" He procaliemd this from atop a large barrel of some kind of IPA and the edict was there enacted. And the team did it. They had 33 to go, and 33 (and more) they did indubitabley get! Fun was had by all! Let's talk!

Identifying the green people from Round #2 ended up being more challenging for them than they thought, but they got through it. Gumby is always a winner!
