Sadly this was the last night at this super venue, but the 5 teams had a fun start to the week, including new team to the KT family - Core Four who almost took it all!

The Guess Who round was, very unusually, a DOG. None other than the lovely Lassie, who has been around since debuting in a short story in 1859 apparently!

Tricky questions gave no chances for Doubling Down, but that kept the game close. The origin of the names of states proved interesting, as did the legends of the Oscar - we all learned something!

In the end, it was Wham O's better knowledge (guesses?) of the 10 men who have been nominated for both Best Actor and Best Director that gave them the victory.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

A really fun set of questions to start off the week for these 3 seasoned teams, and a close race ensued. Everyone was a winner, thanks to the generous prizes at this great venue....but some earned more points than others....

One member of "You told us..." sported a "Lost in Translation" T-shirt, but the team certainly wasn't and scored a perfect 8 (but no double) in the foreign language round 2. Their full team name reminded me of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (Llanfair PG for short) - a small, quiet town on the island of Anglesey off the northwest coast of North Wales, famous for having the longest place name in an English-speaking country.

A clever round 3 and the simultaneously guessed Lionel Richie in Round 4 kept the teams close...mais, courage mes Braves, a double down in the Round 5 find the connection, gave You told us a lead that was unassailable. (Strange Brew Eh even had the T-shirt for a Round 5 answer - see pics!)

Despite a successful double shot by Funky 2.0 in Round 6, they were unable to catch You told us, but they secured second and Strange Brew a close 3rd.

PS If anyone gets a chance, the story of the stolen gold toilet (the name of the toilet is America) is a classic!

There were three seasoned teams competing Monday night at Pappas Artisanal. It was a game with ups and downs with two successful double or nothing's made by Johnny Tyler: Mad Cap, a challenging find the connection round (the connection was Gordon Ramsey and all three teams guessed the connection had to do with cooking) and a close but sadly unsuccessful double or nothing made by Funk 2.0 in round 7.

After much deliberation, since it was a November Monday and many people find it is not too early for Christmas songs and music, I decided that meant it was definitely not too early for a thanksgiving themed game of scattergories for our beer round! The letter was M and a team was met with heat for listing "Marzipan Pie" as a type of pie but I decided I would accept their answer. It turns out, I made the right call, as Marzipan pies dooo exist! There were a lot of laughs at the revealing of the awkward family dinner topic submissions since two teams went with "masturbation" Funky 2.0 ended with the most points and won the beer!

The game ended with Johnny Tyler: Mad Cap taking the first place prize with 60 points. They were followed by Wham-o! and coming in third was Funky 2.0!
