Well, oh well! Another fan-tabulous night here at Red Star. What's a better way to start off the week than to nosh on some tacos, drink some margaritas and play some light-hearted trivia! I'd say that's a stellar way to start off any week!
Last night's rounds were an interesting bunch. The contestants had to identify the name of the Wonka brand candy in the image round. The third round I'd say was nothing but a wonder. The "Guess Who" star of the night was the breakout star of "Bridesmaids" Melissa McCarthy. Fun fact; her cousin was the original co-host of MTV's "Single Out". The Wonka themed round sparked something in me and it made me wanna see some drawings of Willy Wonka for the "Drinking Round". There were some creative takes on Mr. Wonka. It was Hard to choose one winner. "Find the Connection" was jammin'! And the teams needed to name off the top 10 highest grossing films of the 1980's. Both George Lucas and Steven Spielberg had three movies from the same franchise top that list. "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars", of course. Alright, now for the teams who scored big!
The team that won second-to-last place was 4 Nips with 20 points. Returning team Medio-core came in second with 37 points. And the winning team of both the "Drinking Round" and the game with a score of 39 points is Yer a Quizard, Harry (I'm a Wut). Let's have a toast to our winning teams! <clink>
Thanks to all the teams who participated in last night's game. Without you guys, I wouldn't be able to do what I enjoy. This is Brittany, your Quizmaster, signing off

Monday night trivia at Red Star was in effect! The Washington weather was being unpredictable as usual. Hahaha! We had a bit of a crowd, which was enough of a turnout for a lively game.
There were an assortment of subjects in last night's quiz. The players had to guess the well known bears from TV, movies & books. Round three was "palm" and "springs" related. Director & comedic actor Ben Stiller was the "Guess Who" celebrity of the evening. My favourite role of his will always be his parody of Eddie Munster in his MTV sketch series, "The Ben Stiller Show". Contestants had to correlate the forts to the US states. Finally, teams had to list off the top nine Ice Cream companies according to zippia.com. Now, for the scores and our top champs.
In second-to-last place was Serenity by Jan with 27 points. The Grizzlets came in second with a total of 39 points. And the night's winners were The Internet Was a Mistake with a whopping 49 points. Hip-hip-hooray!
I wanna shine a spotlight to the Red Star staff. They're running on a short crew but they're going H.A.M on hospitality. Thanks to the players who participated in the fun & games. You guys makes it all worth while! This is Brittany, your Quizmaster, signing off!

Yeah, boy! Such a glorious evening at Red Star. I had my shadow, Keenan, backing me up last night. I learned so much from him as I was showing him the Quizmaster ropes. The house was rocking and everyone was all pumped up for trivia!
The evening's rounds were a mixed bag of knowledge. Teams had to identify the actor behind all that special effect makeup. Round three was dedicated to the Ocean. Former mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg was the highlighted figure of "Guess Who". Players had to match the established characters to the video game that they originated from. Finally, the contestants had to list off eight major US cities that took place in the culinary competition series Top Chef. Now, let's get straight into the nights winners.
The second to last place winners were Awkward Koala with 27 points. Alone at the Bar came in second with 56 points. And continuing their rein as the superior team here at Red Star is Tacoma Super Sonics with an astounding 74 points. Way to go, teams!
I wanna give props to the staff at Red Star. They were running with a short staff and they were working extra hard to make sure everyone was shown hospitality. I also wanna thank Keenan for being such a great sport and for having a deep voice the whole bar can hear. Hahaha! I hope to see everyone again next Monday!
