QUIZ RECAP

After a very brief 27 month hiatus, King Trivia is back at Rocco's Tavern! Nine teams joined us for an exciting night that began with every team scoring either five or six points in the General Knowledge Round.

The competition remained fierce throughout the night. There were several lead changes and the results were unclear until the Final Round. Monday Night's profound knowledge of dog breeds vaulted them to first place with Team Owen, and Hoosier Baddies close behind.

Team Owen won the Drinking Round, correctly identifying the year Aretha Franklin's "Respect" was released. (It was 1967, for those of you playing at home.)

What could be better than the daily free social media question provided by King Trivia? A second freebie when your ding-dong of a quizmaster accidentally reads an answer as part of a question. You're welcome.

Fire Rob Manfred certainly didn't need the assistance of me reading "Puyi was the last person to hold what title in China?" as "Puyi was the last emperor of China. Um. Oops." They successfully doubled in the first three rounds and never looked back.

Fuck, I Don't Know used a strong Round 5 (which I mistakenly announced as Round 7) to pull away from the competition on the way to a second place finish.

Painted Taints were the only team to score 10 points in the Guess Who? round. No other team scored better than 4 points. And I'm sure they weren't distracted when I dropped my Round 6 handouts on the floor.

I hope you'll all join us next Monday for another fun evening of King Trivia when maybe I'll inadvertently eat the microphone.

QUIZ RECAP

Tonight was the first King Trivia at Rocco's Tavern of 2020 with spring training baseball on the televisions, so it was fitting that our winners were Fire Rob Manfred.

There were absolutely no baseball questions in the quiz, but The Painted Taints' familiarity with California's population centers helped them into second place.

XM/CG came in third even thought they didn't join the game until the second inning. Round. I meant round. I am totally focused on trivia questions and pitching them to the players.
