Tonight was a party. I don't know what was in the air, but everyone was having a great time. We had newcomers Crotch Chakra (which is another on the list of favorite team names), make a come from behind play for second, only to lose it on the tiebreaker. First place went to The Drinking Team With S Trivia Problem, but only thanks to a successful double in round 5. Delicious beer and a fun crowd made for an awesome night. Oh, and the team Go Cubs was a bit unpopular for some reason...

Lots of fun tonight. The lead changed hands in every single round, which was fun to follow as a quizmaster. I'm sure the players were dealing with anxiety, trying to win. But hey, that's what beer is for. Overall, the game was quite challenging, as rounds one and two left several teams stumped. In fact, only two teams were able to figure the connection in round 5. But in six and seven, several teams successfully doubled and this one came down to the wire. Oh, and Rok has a few new beers on tap. My personal favorite is the Conk Buster IPA, which uses more tropical hop flavors. It goes down well while playing King Trivia.

Crazy fun night. Regal Beagles took the win tonight in a come from behind victory, after stealing the lead in the fifth and sealing it in the sixth with a successful double. There was some animosity between the teams tonight, compounded by the fact that one team was named "Pippa Hayes Julia." (To explain, the lovely Julia is one of our regulars, and she frequently brings her dog whose name is Pippa.) To say Julia was not a fan of the name is an understatement, but her reaction derailed the game as it left the quizmaster in a fit of laughter. Some other fun team names were Eggplant Condom (named after the Facebook question) and Clowns Are People Too, in honor of October 18's Clown Lives Matter March (yes, this is real). My favorite part of the night came in round number five, where I wagered a bet. I was so confident that no team could guess the connection after the first question that I offered up $20 as a prize to anyone who correctly guessed it (quietly to my face, of course). No one figured it out, and I kept all of my money. Honestly, I am very comfortable with that result.
