Wow, we had fun at T. Phillips tonight! Just goes to show you don't need a huge crowd to have a rousing good time!
Two great teams were battling it out tonight, and just when I thought the Lab Rats were going to clinch the title early with their double down score of 16 in round 2, they began to fizzle! Then The Mexicans made a big rally in round 4 with their mad Guess Who skills, got the 8 point clue, and Lab Rats never saw it coming - literally, they never got the clue and got -1 for the round.
Then it was looking like anybody's game as the Rats stayed ahead but The Mexicans were hot on their tails until, BAM! It was all tied up in round 7 with 40 to 40! Then the tie breaking question: they both got it wrong! Not only that, but they both got the same wrong answer! They thought it was 18 stars on the Indiana state flag- it is 19. So I asked a second tie breaking question. It was about the UK Prime Minister. Mexicans shouted, "not fair to Mexicans! Say it in Spanish!" Well I couldn't, but they made a great effort guessing David Cameron, but alas, the Lab Rats nailed it with the correct answer: Tony Blair. But hey, they had 9 players, The Mexicans were only 3, which proves again it's not the size of the crowd that matters, but the brain power and who wants it most. So the Labbies clinched it by a point in double overtime. Great job guys! you were awesome, please come back every week- and bring friends!

We had a tiny but tough crowd at T. Phillip's Monrovia Tuesday. The new group The Salamanders struggled in 2nd at first but gained momentum as these young guys knew lot's of those up to the minute trending answers. We're so happy to see regulars The 401k's back again after being gone a couple weeks, and boy were they hot! They got tons of answers no one else knew, getting 9 out of 10 in round 5. It looked like they might have clinched it for a minute, but the Salamanders just edged them out at the end. It was a night full of tough questions, and players competed hard. It was lots of fun and I hope to see you all back next week, plus more, thanks everyone!

It was a wild and crazy night at T. Phillip's in Monrovia. Out first Tuesday of the run, moving from Thursdays, was a crowded success! Lots of new faces, and so happy to see some old friends come back. We had some tough rounds, with only one successful double down all night. That was Department of Doom, back with a vengeance. They took the lead early, and kept it all night, pulling away with nearly every round to finish the night with a 50, 11 points ahead of second place Be Kind Rewind with 39 - another old regular we're happy to see back. A fun and enthusiastic newcomer, Stephanie L. got the front table and stayed excited all night, later joined by a friend. In honor of our Philadelphia round, Stephanie excitedly volunteered to sing The Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song. She did a great job and the crowd loved it! Stephanie finished third and we hope to see her back every week along with the fun partying Tronald Drunks, and the rest of the exciting and smart crowd. Thank you all!
