OB's Manhattan Beach is proud to be your local beach pub since 1985. We are dedicated to personal attention, great food, excellent drinks and always a good time.
It's always a good time at OB's Pub and Grill, but this rainy Wednesday evening ensured only the dedicated came to play. Ten teams threw down their collective gauntlets for seven rounds of grueling trivia.
Yolo took an early lead alongside ISTNH, but round 3 staggered the momentum. This was followed by the Guess Who Slaughter as 5 teams found their totals dropping down by one. Those risky guesses proved costly.
At this point, a new leader emerged: The Wallets of El Segundo. They were hungry, and for more than just trivia. During the Round 5 Break, they took home the special prize of an order of Cheese Fries. But that treat may have been their undoing.
By Round 7, it was anyone's game. Three teams went all in with Double or Nothing, and it's no surprise that they ended up in the Winners' Circle in the end.
MAKsimum Effort and Prestige Worldwide closed the gap to 3rd and 2nd, but it was ISTNH earning top honors and top prize for the night. A fantastic finish. Not too shabby for this Quizmaster's first night.

Quizmaster Jo here, returning after a few weeks off. As usual, it was a fully packed house of trivia lovers at OB's. We started out with SIXTEEN teams, a record for this quizmaster.
The first round started a little shaky, with no team correctly answering every question -- and that set the tone for the rest of the night! Almost everyone guessed Sean Connery right in the Guess Who round, but almost nobody knew any J.K. Rowling books!
By the time the scores were added up, Raiders Redemption had a commanding first place win, but there was a three-way tie for third. Stalwart regulars The Wallets of El Segundo came closest to guessing the number of counties in the U.S. (but if I'm being honest, they were still wayyy off). ;-D

OB's Wed night game is jam packed, it was super fun to sub last night. Only ONE POINT separated the leaders, but THE WALLETS OF EL SEGUNDO nosed out DEFOREST STATION for the $40 first prize. ($20 is nothing to cry about Deforest!) SAND SECTION were the Cinderella team last night, they took off before they could take home their $10 3rd prize. Good news for PUSSY OVER PANCAKES, they weren't too proud to snatch it right up. SAND SECTION had their moment in the sun, they got to scarf the chili cheese fry round by knowing what year cheez whiz was invented. Knowledge iz POWER!
