QUIZ RECAP

This was an interesting game, with lot's of ups and downs. For the General Knowledge Round, many of the teams missed only one or two questions. In Round 2, I See Dead People tried to double but failed because the mistook the design on the "Aladdin" playbill for Lumiere from "Beauty and the Beast." Golden Gurlz had taken the lead, but were closely followed by the team that's #8 in league play, Boner Thugz N' Harmony along with The Shining Wits.

We celebrated Labor Day in Round 3, and half of the teams also got to celebrate getting five points! Golden Gurlz lost their lead during the Guess Who Round when Flying Solo and SCV Diablos correctly answered "Michael Douglas" after the ten point clue. Flying Solo was the new leader, with SCV Diablos and Golden Gurlz tied for second. Both Golden Gurlz and Boner Thugz N' Harmony got a perfect score for Round 5, but didn't double. In a game like this, those missed opportunities can hurt a lot!

Round 6 saw another missed opportunity to double, this time by I See Dead People. SCV Diablos, however was confident in his answers and successfully doubled, giving him a ten point lead with only one round left! This time Flying Solo got a perfect score but didn't double, keeping them in second place instead of first.

SCV Diablos got to take home the top prize both because of his trivia knowledge and strategic play. Flying Solo and Golden Gurlz would take second and third, and be left to think about a couple key mistakes that kept them out of first.

Well, the teams that were in the money clearly dominated this game. The gap between 3rd and 4th place was 12 points, and half the teams couldn't break 20 points. They'll get their chance at redemption next week if they bring their A-game.

Fish Sticks, Flying Solo, The Shining Wits, and Cobra Kai started out strong, with 5-6 points each. After Round 2, they still were within 1 point of each other. However Spicy Crab made up for a poor start by doubling and taking the lead. They really know their Ice Cream!

Not yo be outdeone, Flying Solo doubled in Round 3 to reclaim the lead. He reinforced that lead during the Guess Who Round by getting the 8 point clue. Spicy Crab and Golden Gurlz both got the 4 point clue. The rest of the teams unfortunately could not guess the right answer (Freddy Mercury) and lost a point. However, the show must go on!

Many teams did well in Round 5, but Flying Solo had a good 7 point lead by this point. In Round 6, The Shining Wits answered all questions right, but didn't double. If they had, they would be within 2 points of first place. At this point, Flying Solo was still on top with 46 points, Spicy Crab was in 2nd with 38 points. The Shining Wits and Golden Gurlz had 34 and 33 points, respectively. It was time for the final round.

Flying Solo got 10/10 right! Spicy Crab could only get 3 points. This allowed The Shining Wits to over take them and get 2nd! Spicy Crab's poor performance this round would continue to hurt them, as Golden Gurlz got 8 points and tied with them at 3rd. Their fate would be decided with a tie breaking question. "According to Box Office Mojo, how much did Pride and Prejudice and Zombies make at the domestic box office?" Both teams' answers way over the correct $10.9 million dollars, but Spicy Crab was closer and earned 3rd place. What an exciting ending to the game!
