Things I learned From My Night As A Substitute Quizmaster at Malainey's:

-Cardi B caters to a young crowd

-I have a very hard time pronouncing German words

-Double or don't, you'll regret it either way

-Eminem is to Cardi B what Brezhnev is to Khrushchev

-You have to spend money to make money

-18.45 million people tuned in to the premiere of Roseanne

-Team Long Beach Seal Beach will be on vacation for the rest of the month

-I'm too young to know all the songs on my own '70s rock playlist

-Everyone's thinks Eminem's most popular song is 8 Mile, which is actually a movie.

-4th place is as good as 3rd when the 3rd place team didn't contribute to the pot

-A team named "And in last place!" will not always end up in last place

-What a pleasure it was to fill in as Quizmaster at Malainey's!

QUIZ RECAP

Wow, can I just say, what a tight game this was.  Throughout the first few rounds things were going as normal, a double here, a streak there, and a bit of repartee between close teams.  Overall, it seemed like a relatively standard week.  That was until the last two rounds.  After rounds 6 & 7 we had a first for myself and many of the teams, a four way tie for places 1-4, with places 5 & 6 only missing out on the tie by one point.  As you could imagine, things were....competitively tense in the room at that point.

Our winners ended up being 1) Albatross, 2) Land Sharks, and 3) Wahines.

It was a great night tonight!  All of our regular teams came out to test their wits.  Towards the end of the night we had a VERY close game for 2nd through 4th.  Close games make it all the more interesting!
