About The Slip Bar & Eatery

At The Slip, we don't think food at a bar has to taste like bar food. In addition to delicious wings, pizza, burgers, and fries, we offer a Blue Zones certified menu with plenty of healthy and vegetarian choices.

Watch the sun set over Redondo’s King Harbor and choose from over 60 hand-selected beers, plus wine and cocktails. The Slip is family-friendly and we have eight TVs so you can watch your favorite teams. We host an Open Mic every Wednesday and live music on the weekends.

We’re located on the International Boardwalk of the Redondo Beach Pier right below the bike path, making us a perfect stop during a bike ride. Parking is also available in the lot at the apex of Harbor Drive and Pacific.

Only two doubles were made throughout the evening last night, which just goes to show that the questions were tough! Steven Spielberg's Find the Connection round left many teams feeling particularly stumped! I was pleasantly surprised that almost every team got most of the Round 7 geometry terms correct - it's rare that Round 7 is a high scoring round!

In the end, regular trivia pros Rio Deal came out ahead with 55 points after a consistent performance. In second, You Can Call Me Al barely trailed behind with 52. Third place was the result of a huge comeback by late-joiners BLT, who managed to double down on Round 7 to snag the last winning spot!

See you all next week and thanks for playing!

What a turn of events! The leading teams switched around nearly every round last night, which was a testament to the wide variety of subject matter covered in the different rounds. From celebrity names to "revolutions" to the periodic table of elements, the rounds allowed what felt like every team to shine at one thing or another.

From the get-go, trivia masters Mr. Poopybutthole successfully doubled and made themselves serious contenders. Although Rounds 2-5 saw many teams swapping places in the rankings, they remained consistent in their game and walked away with the win via a 5 point lead. In second place, Rio Deal recovered from a slow start to successfully double the difficult Round 6 band origins handout and make their way into the top. Third place went to Dirty Dan, who alongside Mr. Poopybutthole were the only ones to double the Round 7 elements with 5 or fewer letters in their names.

Great job everyone and I'll see you next Tuesday!

A first place win for Markel! Woo! I love my regulars! Also a shoutout to all my registered teams!

Last night's rounds were tough. The Round 6 currency questions were particularly difficult, so doing well in Round 7 was vital in winning the top three spots! Markel managed to pull into the lead in Round 5 with a successful double of the Find the Connection for a whopping 20 points. They maintained the lead til the end and took home the grand prize. In second place, the regulars Rio Deal were the only team to successfully double Round 7's highest grossing music tours of 2018. Third place went to Mr. Poopybutthole, whose consistent high scores in each round snagged them the last top spot!

The Presidential Candidate Round 2 handout led to some hilarious answers, with many teams writing in a single candidate for all of the ones they did not know, including "Dick Cheney," who didn't ever even run for president.

Looking forward to seeing all your lovely faces next week for another neck & neck race!
