Another fun Friday night on the pre 4th weekend! Thanks everyone for coming out!

Every round had a "no clue/maybe" question, so no one doubled down (wisely!)

During the beer round (Thanks Twisted Sage!) teams guessed the herbs and spices that grow in my garden and/or are in my cupboards. It was a lot of fun with Shiny Frog and Team DNA getting a perfect 8 and eventually separated by how high up Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme, the 1966 album by Simon and Garfunkle got in the charts (#4) - well done Team DNA. I have a lot more of this xxxx in my pantry, so this will be a regular round!

A couple of bad guesses in the Guess Who yes the Who round took Black Cat Down and The Golden Neighbours out of the running. A bit of a different spin but enjoyable. BTW the Who were the first Rock band to perform at the Met in New York - their Opera Tommy in 1970 - and my dear departed husband Edd was there. Truly an iconic group.

Sage Advice prevailed in the end - not getting too crazy, not killing it either (reference to round 6 there!) EVERYONE thought Daniel Day Lewis was nominated for the Last Mohicans and all I can say is - HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN - but given his other nomations/Oscars, maybe it's OK, but I hope he returns to the stage or screen.

Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone and see you on the 12th!

A real appreciation to all who came to play on the Summer Solstice at the lovely Twisted Sage.

Lots of doubling down by the more experienced teams gave one of the highest scoring games I have ever encountered. The new teams joined in heartily - everyone was a Cereal Killer in the find the connection round and everyone got Bill Gates in the Guess Who round. Special Kudos for 10 point on round 4 to The Old Smoothy who used to be a regular in Long Beach - hopefully he and his team will be Twisted Sage regulars.

To celebrate a member's birthday, the Hawaiian state fish team came out fighting with successful double downs in rounds 1 and 2 and led all the way to the finish. Congratulations to them and everyone else.

Thanks again to the hard working staff at this great venue! Hope to see everyone again as the days get shorter 🙁

Father's Day weekend got off to a fun start at the Twisted Sage! The theme appropriate "My Dad is More Famous..." picture round allowed Hoof Hearted to jump into an early lead but Jingle Jangle and Smart but Not in that Way doubled down next round to snap on their heels throughout, and Beerly Legal made it even more interesting with their successful 10 point guess of - guess what - The Liberty Bell.

The youngest participant won the Irish Geography beer round and kindly donated the pitcher he won to contestants over 21.

It became clear during the Find the Connection that Hoof Hearted were going to hold on to the lead. 2nd place was shared by Jingle Jangle and Smart but Not in That Way, until the tie break question gave Smart etc the win....nice to hear a mention of Heisman Trophy winning, all American Vinny Testaverde who scored 275 touchdowns in his 21 (yes 21 year) career.

Thanks everyone, including the great staff at this excellent venue!
