QUIZ RECAP

Always a great way to start the weekend - Trivia night at the Twisted Sage! 6 good sized teams did battle over the usual 7 rounds (and the music beer round too!)

Some early round double downs had teams jostling for the top spots right away, but the later rounds proved trickier!

Not Dead Pest and Periodic Table Dancers were up with the answer (David Letterman) to the guess who round before I'd even finished giving the first clue - nice 10 points!

The Find the Connection round was very clever - all answers were Madonna Songs (and not the better known ones) - several teams scored very highly, but with no idea why....

The EGOT round had a couple of sneaky choices, and knowing the top 10 countries with volcanoes was tough (who knew Ethiopia had lots of them - not anyone at the Twisted Sage!) , so the initial leaders prevailed.

QUIZ RECAP

A great variety of questions, a somewhat tricky Guess What and a Dickens of a Connection round, kept the 8 teams pretty close throughout the game. The famous Samuel L Jackson has played a lot of roles, which made identifying 8 of his movies rather difficult from the small pictures in Round 2! And no fortune tellers among the players so no knowledge of the Tarot cards (though Uno was pretty well known!)

As always, we learn something, including the sub units of currency of the Israeli New Shekel (Agora) and the Egyptian Pound (Piastre)!

I tested the knowledge of temperatures around the world in the beer round and Blue Stars Night Sky stole it from Cheating Astros go to Hell on the last (my happy place) - Tulum, near Cancun.

Congratulations to Save the Koalas on their win!

QUIZ RECAP

Friday night's trivia was another night of an energetic crowd! 10 teams battled it out and for several rounds we had three teams tied for 1st place. Those three teams were able to keep their scores up through the whole game to make them the first second and third place teams. Not Dead Pest was the clear first placer with 49 points but Humble Pirates and Save the Koalas tied for second with 42 points. In the end, after the jet pack tie breaker Humble Pirates secured their spot for 2nd place! This was a challenging trivia night especially for those of us that mayyybee have never seen a basketball game in their lives...and by some of us...I also mean me. Twas a fun night none the less! Some teams took big risks but all gave it there all!
