The team known as 6 is the perfect number have been regulars at the twisted sage cafes trivia show for some time now, at least considered in the context of the longevity of said show. Up to this point in time, no team has deigned to question or challenged the notion of 6 in fact being the most perfect number. UNTIL THAT FATEFUL FRIDAY NIGHT. On April 5th 2019, a team of young mavericks donned the name "28 is a perfecter number". It's safe to say that nobody was ready for the duel of fates that would ensue in the hours between 7 and 9 PM at the Twisted Sage Cafe that evening. From the get go, 28 is a perfecter number was giving it their all with a strong performance right out of the gate. The last week's champions and also veterans of TSC's trivia, Big Group Small Brains, were more than willing to toss their ring into the hat as well. The game was a draw from the start. Moving into the second round, 4 total teams were able to successfully double down and 3 of those teams were able to keep this point advantage until the end of the game, and ended up placing in the end. Round 3 proved unmistakably more challenging than usual with all the answers being made up of even numbers and maybe a word here or there. The guess who round was not as difficult as last weeks James Lipton, in fact one team, We Don't Know Shit was able to guess correctly on the 10 point clue! This was the perfect segue into everyone's favorite round, the Free Beer Round. With the mass confusion that ensued after finding out that the Miami Heat did in fact retire Michael Jordan's jersey number, despite him never having played for them, it was only right that the question harken back to MJ's glory days. The teams had to guess the number of regular season games that Jumpman played in his 15 seasons without going over. Now what do you do when nobody gets the answer right because they all go over? You keep the beer for yourself of course. Kidding! You amend the rules. In this case, The Tipsy Lemurs lived up to their name and earned themselves free beer. they were, after all only 8 away from the true blue answer. The find the connection round proved a challenge as well with none of the teams getting all of the answers correct! Up until this point, it was still absolutely anybody's game with the top 3 teams being only one point away from each other! Round 6 pulled 6 is the perfect number & 28 is a perfecter number away from the 3rd place Bri & the girls for a one on one duel of fates with only the dreaded last round between a sweet sweet victory and a devastating second place finish. With an incredibly challenging question for even the most dedicated bibliophile, 6 is the perfect number was unable to get the extra point edge over 28 is the perfecter number, landing them a much deserved honor of second place, but only driving their desire to come back next week to have another go at the title! Watch out, 28, they're no doubt gearing up for an epic rematch!

March 29th seemed like a night like any other, but the competing teams at Twisted Sage Cafe would soon find out how challenging these questions would really be. The first round was a misguiding underhand lob used to boost the confidence of the teams as more than half the teams got every answer correct and 4 teams successfully doubled down. Even after round 2, the confidence of these teams did not falter. 3 more double downs occurred in this round with a few high scores being stifled by the shockingly similar likenesses of Elvis and Johnny Cash when the chosen medium is butter. The real challenge ramped up exponentially with round number 3. The varied usages of "Nick" and "Cage" were as ambiguous as they were ubiquitous. This kept the top contending teams in check and ready to lock and load for the famously challenging "Guess Who" round; however, nobody was prepared for the inconceivably difficult clues leading them Inside the Actor's Studio. Unfortunately for every team battling for first place, nobody was up to speed on the James Lipton knowledge and every team that scored had to resort to the 5th clue for a measly 2 points. This kept it anybody's game before heading into the Free Beer Round. Contestants had to guess the year of the first NCAA men's basketball tournament in the spirit of March Madness. The top team at that point in the night, Big Group Small Brains, was able to clinch the free beer round as well, with the close trailing teams perhaps hoping the beer would go to their heads. But falter they did not. BGSB was able to put up a respectable 7 points in the "Find the Connection" round. Most teams did not know the capital of French Guiana, but some were still able to make the connection that Barry Pepper isn't a type of pepper at all, but an actor with the very fitting name. This curve ball didn't slip up The Tipsy Lemurs who closed the gap to first place by getting 9 points in that round. Round 6 also proved challenging with the top teams scoring decent and the rest of the pack varying. For round 7, only Potterheads prevailed with Team Bust a Move scoring the most points with 8 out of 10 possible answers. In the end, Big Group Small Brains was able to hold out against the stiff competition put on by The Tipsy Lemurs and Bust a Move earned a very respectable 3rd place. An honorable mention goes out to Periodic Table Dancers. They are always fearsome contenders for first place and while they weren't able to put much on the board this time, its only due to the fact that they doubled down almost every single round, risking it all in the ultimate show of unshakable confidence. See you all this Friday for more King Trivia!!

Dirty minds get high scores, at least that seemed to be the case last night at Twisted Sage where the teams with the least family-friendly names catapulted to the top of the pack. There was some fierce competition with many double-or-nothing plays throughout the game that kept everyone guessing who was going to be leap-frogged next. In the end, Quiz In Our Pants took the big prize and everyone lived happily ever after. What a night!
