QUIZ RECAP

The weather moved us inside, but it was still a rowdy night of trivia at Cactus Jack's! 

The General Knowledge round saw Phil & the Buttercups take an early lead, but the Picture round saw All the Dicks make up the points to tie for first! But a brave double or nothing in the Theme round put All the Dicks in a solid first place.

Keeping it a tight race, Phil & the Buttercups were able to guess Michael Douglass in the Guess Who? round with just the first 10 point clue bringing them to a tie with All the Dicks once again! 

The Find the Connection round proved difficult for everyone, but All the Dicks managed to come out a few points ahead.  Still a close game, the Handout round saw another successful double or nothing from All the Dicks, whilst Phil & the Buttercups lost out with one wrong answer in their attempt to double their points.

Phil & the Buttercups made a last ditch effort to double their points in the List round, but All the Dicks still came out on top.

It was an awesome friendly competition, and to finish this out, both teams combined their gift cards to buy a round of shots for all the trivia players!

QUIZ RECAP

It was a bit chilly on the patio at Cactus Jack's tonight, keeping the turnout low....but the game was great! Phil & The Buttercups and All The Dicks were high scorers in Round 1 with 5 of a possible 6, but Road Kill bounced back to top Round 2 (along with the Buttercups), scoring 6 out of 8.  The Guess Who round was a tough one tonight, as only two teams got it right, and only on the 2 point clue. The Buttercups were high scorers in the Find The Connection Round with 9, as the other two teams each tallied 8. (NB: though The Dicks' answer to Q7 "River" was arguably correct, the answer had to be "Rivers" to fit the theme)

The Dicks got 10 of a possible 10 in the Handout Round (6) to close to within a point of the leaders....but the Buttercups held on by scoring 10 out of 10 in the final round to win by 2 points.  My thanks to all the players, and to the staff at Cactus Jacks; your regular quizmaster will be back next week.  Thanks all!!

It was a beautiful night at Cactus Jack's, and the patio was full; only three teams saw fit to play, while several others "followed along".

The game started with two teams, and a party of two sat down just as I was asking question 5 in Round 1 and asked if they could still play; they signed up, caught up....and won the night! All The Dicks jumped out to the early led with 5 of a possible 6 in Round 1, with 67 Impala right behind with 4; The Dicks also were high scorers in Round 2 with 6 out of 8, but the game remained tight as 67 Impala and First Place each tallied 5. 67 Impala jumped out in front by hitting a successful double-or-nothing in Round 3 (12 points), but when The Dicks and 67 Impala each took a -1 in the Guess Who Round, First Place's correct answer for 4 points left all 3 teams within 5 points. 67 Impala were high scorers in Round 5 (8 out of 10) but First Place leapfrogged everyone with a successful double in the Handout Round for 20 points. They were also high scorers in the final round to cruise home to the win with 51 points.

I had a great time, I look forward to doing it all again next week at Cactus Jack's!
