Hockey playoffs are revving up right as Seattle begins to thaw for the Spring and tonight was the big playoff game with the Dallas Stars!
It was also Star Wars Day, and we had a nice lively crew out for trivia!
I guess you could say today in Seattle was both Star Wars Day and (Dallas) Stars War Day?!?
(This bit worked better in person, I promise.)
Before the game even started, I had the pleasure of meeting a team that was visiting from LA who plays King Trivia all the time back home! They told me they usually play Thursday nights, so they looked up where to find King Trivia and found us! So happy to have them.
What a fun set of questions this evening. Even though the Kraken was losing their playoff game, everyone in the bar was high energy and engaged. The Star Wars round was a crowd favorite and I had a perfect excuse to play the Cantina Song more than once.
And in a city as obsessed with food as Seattle, the David Chang Guess Who round was a no-brainer! All but one team got it within the first 3 clues.
In the end, the LA team, You’re A Quizard Harry put up a hell of a fight, but Clarkies and The Fellers took it home this evening.
The Kraken may have lost to the Stars, but spirits were high and trivia was a blast.
May the 4th be with you!

Tonight was a lovely warm day in the usually rainy city of Seattle, which means the windows in King Leroy were open and the place was bustling!
Our auditionee Lauren was here and her energy was wonderful from the beginning! We were a dynamic duo and the crowd gave it right back to us. Something about a little sunshine and Seattleites go nuts!
The questions this evening were good fun and most teams came out of the gate running. I thought the Find The Connection would be pretty obscure, but multiple teams got it no problem. Good to know people still give a hoot about Supreme Court Cases!
We ended up going with a Rihanna theme on the music this evening which was a great choice. The game was full of Double or Nothings, laughs, and a brand new first place winner, Team KingSunovabeach!
We also had a new team comprised of folks who just moved into the building upstairs, and I’m looking forward to seeing them next week.

Kraken played tonight
Our trivia teams killed it!
A great night indeed.
Okay, I thought I was going to be able to sum up tonight in a little haiku as it was an intimate game, but it seems to leave out the gusto with which everyone tackled the game tonight! We had our winning team from last week return for a rematch against our consistent leaders, Clarkies, who did end up taking the main prize tonight.
We also had a brand new team that seems to have found their new trivia home!
The Kraken may have lost their playoff game, but the crowd at trivia was more engaged than ever, with a healthy dose of friendly competition!
