Another lively crowd here at King Leroy on a Thursday night!

Seattle has been quiet this week because of Spring Break, but we had a full restaurant tonight at King Leroy. Our regulars were here, as were some new teams! One team was comprised of a couple of folks who had been best friends since elementary school but haven’t seen each other since pre-pandemic. 

The “incorrect” answers tonight were some of my favorites. Did Guns ’n’ Roses perform the titular song in Beauty and the Beast? Absolutely not, but it is hilarious to think about. Now I can’t stop thinking about rock and roll covers of Disney songs. Is that a thing? Should it be?

Someone mixed up Bernie Madoff and Martin Scorsese, and I feel like I should be able to come up with a witty joke about that, but as nothing is coming in the moment, I’ll just hope you can share that laugh with me. 😉

In the end, Team Spicy Eagles came back from behind, going Double or Nothing on the last question to yank first place from the clutches of our regulars!! They placed second and third though, and everyone was stoked to be here. 

QUIZ RECAP

Tonight was a busy night at King Leroy! We thought it would be much slower as it was rainy and cold again, but LIES! That’s just business as usual in Seattle and the crowd was roaring when I arrived!

Clarkies and the Fellers showed up and showed OUT tonight, batting 1,000 on the first three rounds AND getting the Double or Nothings. It quickly became a battle for third and fourth as Team Clarkies pulled so far ahead. 

Round 2 was amazing because it gave me a lot of song choice ideas while folks were mulling over their answers for Round 3 and 4. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to play Destiny’s Child, Green Day, Run-DMC, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs all in one sitting.

But the best music moment was when I queued up “Blue Velvet” to play at the exact moment I revealed the answer to the last question of Round 3. I think David Lynch would be proud of my dramatic flair this round!! 

My favorite Guess Who rounds are when everyone is collectively in the dark until the moment they all realize who it is! This round, it was the moment I revealed he was the lead in George of the Jungle when everyone *GASPED*. Like the clues said, the man is experiencing a renaissance!! 

Round 5 saw a comeback for Team Amazon Anonymous, putting them just 8 points behind Clarkies and turning what was a huge lead into a real competition.

In the end, Amazon Anonymous just squeaked past Clarkies to take home first place, and we had a blast!!

QUIZ RECAP

Tonight’s trivia game was a little quieter than usual, as it was opening day for The Mariners, but like Tuesday, it was a battle of the regulars!

Team Clarkies had a birthday girl this evening, and were running a tad late, but made sure they texted me from the road for the join code so they wouldn’t miss trivia!

The Front Bottoms were back after missing last week and came out of the gate running! They were the only team to get the Guess Who question, getting it correct on the 6-point clue. They led the majority of the game, really killing it on Rounds 1-6.

It may have been a quiet night, but spirits were high as the Mariners pulled ahead of Cleveland in the baseball game!

In the end, Highlighter Ink Shortage actually blew everyone out of the (no) water (hehe get it? landlocked nations?) with the final question. As it was such an intimate crowd, I had eyes on them and had to be sure they weren’t cheating. But ALAS! They just don’t play around when it comes to UN nations.
