QUIZ RECAP

As the days get longer and warmer, trivia night at King Leroy gets more and more lively by the week! Tonight we had 8 teams duking it out for the title, with some old faces as well as new.

The bartender here, Tiffany, is a huge Vampire nerd, most notably Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so she was thrilled with Round 2! She had to try her best not to reveal any of the answers but *just so happened* to turn on Buffy on the big screens as soon as all the answers were in.

Our Find The Connection round was a blast too. As a famously rainy and angsty town, you know Seattleites know their Jane Austen!

Round 6, aka the Speech Round was awesome! Every single team who answered got all of them correct. A perfect score across the board! Although some were brave enough to hit Double or Nothing and some weren’t…. 

But good job to King Leroy for their impeccable skills in both Literature *and* History this evening! A++!

The Mortal Kombat round was a little bit of a different story, with teams answering such great guesses as “Winston Churchill”, “Scooby Doo,” and “Punchy McPunchface”. 

But that being said, we still had 2 teams go 10 for 10 on this round! Team Tug Lyfe ended up taking home the top prize and I had an excuse to play the Mortal Kombat theme in a bar.

Trivia Thursday, in the style of "Lose Yourself" by Eminem

If you had one opportunity, one shot, to win King trivia, would you take it? Or would you let it go to that insufferable team next to you?

Their palms are sweaty, thumbs weak, hands are heavy,

hopefully no vomit anywhere and they don’t serve spaghetti.

Bartender’s making drinks, they seem calm and ready 

to make shots, but they keep on forgetting,

The orders they wrote down,

because the whole bar goes so loud,

They open their mouths, but the answers don’t come out.

They’re choking now, everybody’s choking now,

Get your answers in, time’s up, it’s over now!

Snap back to reality,

Ope, there goes Round 3

Oh, there goes Team ChatGPT,

Everyone else is mad but they won’t give up easy, no.

It don’t matter they know

The answers but they hope,

They can think of them in time, before they go back to their mobile phones,

That’s when it’s back to the job again, 

yo this whole game idea,

You better submit your answers and hope you pass ‘em.

You better lose yourself in the trivia, the moment,

you own it, you better never let it go.

QUIZ RECAP

Another playoff game/ trivia night combo here in Seattle!

Our Seattle Kraken are still locked in a playoff battle with the Dallas Stars, but it didn’t stop the folks at King Leroy from becoming heavily invested in the game! 

The Guess Who round was a big hit this evening, and as my favorite Guess Who rounds go, everyone realized who it was all at once. We love a collective realization, even if it is just pertaining to trivia!

And the best part of being both Trivia Master and DJ is that I got to play some early Mariah bops!

This was a really good Find The Connection round, and a good 50% of our teams were able to figure out. Team Highlighter Ink Shortage was able to pull into the lead with a double or nothing boost this round after a slow start. 

We had a great combination of new teams and old teams, and for the first night this year we were able to play with the windows open in the bar.

It didn’t even get dark until Round 6! Seattle may be famous for its rain and gloom, but they haven’t seen us May-September!

As far as the final round went - just want to give a huge shoutout to King Trivia for giving me an opportunity to play the Lord of the Rings soundtrack on a loudspeaker!!

I’ve never seen “Gandalf” spelled “Gandolph” but close enough!

In the end, Team Poppers At Tiffany’s pulled ahead with a last round double or nothing and took home top prize!
