QUIZ RECAP

We had a large crowd this evening, with 8 teams signed up and NO ACCIDENTAL DOUBLE TEAMS! Good work King Leroy! Keep it up for the next host 😉 

Team Gussy’s Revenge and our most regular regulars, Clarkies were in a face off from the beginning, going double or nothing for the first two rounds and getting it! But Team Gussy pulled ahead when they got the Guess Who Round on the 8 point clue. That being said, Clarkies caught back up when they went Double or Nothing on the Find the Connection round!

My favorite round tonight was the Daddy Day Care round. Some memorable answers included:

-“I don’t even know any actors!”

-“Not sure why I signed up to play trivia, haha.”

-“I like that this picture is mostly yellow.”

-“Daddy Stranger Things”

-“Daddy Dune”

-“Daddy SVU Stabler, aka not my Daddy”

-“Impressive”

-just “Nigel”

-“Did they oil him down before this shot?”

One of my favorite things about this crowd is when they don’t know the answer, they turn in something off the cuff and hilarious! I’ll shout out my favorite wrong answers before reading the right ones. 

The Guess Who round was one of those where you either knew it off the rip or you didn’t know it at all. That being said, “Open Socks” wasn’t even close!

The Find The Connection Round was where the Clarkies caught back up and pulled ahead, leaving them in their most comfortable ranking - FIRST!

But Gussy’s Revenge was never far behind and pulled back into first during our Literature Round 6!

In the end, Team Gussy’s Revenge took home the top prize, but second place came down to a tie breaker! A new team took 2nd and Clarkies weren’t far behind in 3rd. I’m really going to miss this place but the friends I have here will remain!

QUIZ RECAP

Another lovely and bustling trivia night at King Leroy! Team Clarkies was back this evening, with Dino in tow. Team Spicy Eagles and Team Fire Hazard, some newer regulars were here too! They made quick work of the first three rounds, blasting through the trivia questions. 

Team Clarkies went 3-0 on Double or Nothing for the first 3 rounds, reaching 40 points before we even started our Guess Who Round! 

Plus, Team Dirty South joined us in Round 4, comprised of a fellow ATL native who played a few weeks back and her pal.

The pace was quick, but this backfired for Spicy Eagles, Dirty South, and Clarkies in Round 4!! Instead of waiting it out for the clues, they fired off their guesses early. Nope, it wasn’t Vlad the Impaler, Shakespeare, OR Sir Isaac Newton - the answer was John Smith!! 

The tactic of slow and steady was the move in this Round, and Fire Hazard ended up coming out of Guess Who victorious!

The find the connection was a fun one for me, as Steve Martin is my dad’s favorite comedian. I felt like everyone was going to get it, and I could even overhear Team Dirty South getting close in their guess, but they just missed it. But as soon as everyone found out the connection, it all clicked!

As someone with a Journalism degree, I needed out super hard over Round 6. Pretty good showing too, and Team Fire Hazard had a perfect round!

The final round was good fun as people guessed what they knew and made up fun answers for the rest. My favorites were:

• SO MANY GODFATHER GUESSES (Francis Ford Coppola)
• Airbud
• The Bee Movie

In the end, Clarkies were far and away the leaders as we rounded out the game and took home the W. The real winner this evening though, was Gus the dog!! (See pics!)
