It was one of those nights where one team just dominated. With a birthday on the team, Mr and Mrs whoever shows up doubled successfully on the first round and never looked back. Mad mad mad mad world stayed in contention for much of the game but after Mr and Mrs whoever shows up doubled again in round 5 it was all but over except for the final score. However- in a mad game of domino structure stacking Mad mad mad mad world did outlast all other teams and they were the drinking round winners.

Tonight was a double or nothing extravaganza. Four teams doubled in the first round, all but one team doubled down in round 3, and another 4 teams doubled in Round 6. Of course not all double downs are successful which is why we had lots of lead changes tonight. 5 different teams led at one time or another and there was lots of jostling in the top 3 spots all night long. After all of the doubling down it came down to the last round tonight as we had a traffic jam of 4 teams within 4 points of each other. The Ontologists held the one point lead and that ended up being enough as they cleaned up in round 7 and took the top spot. Congrats to Funky Wagnalls for a close 2nd and newcomers Parentsnightout in third place.

Happy memorial day to all the players today, especially to the vets that played tonight! Tonight’s competition was fierce as it was close all night. The Gold Team had a successful double down in round 2 but watched their lead slowly dwindle to just 1 point by the start of round 6. Car RamRod took the lead after a very good round 6. Alas that small lead disappeared as FUNKY WAGNALLS delivered the best round 7 and took the top spot.
