1... 2... 3-peat!

As ever, King Trivia night at the Lumber Yard in White Center was a battle for trivia domination.

Round 1 pushed our teams' trivia knowledge limits. While some teams, like weekly regulars Flag Hags and Lime Skittles made it through relatively unscathed, newcomers Poopy Slippers and Team Awesome were caught scratching their heads on a number of the general knowledge questions.

But, by Round 2, everyone found their groove - and then some. With the exception of a few teams mixing up King Henry VIII and William Shakespeare, every team at least 6 points to their totals. But it was Flag Hags who really went for it - going double-or-nothing - who took 16 total points this round.

"Switching" over to Round 3, each question or answer pertained to some kind of "switch". And, in this round it was the Poopy Slippers and latecomers Morning Wood who took top points - correctly guessing 5 of the 6 answers.

In our "Guess Who Where?" round, teams SHOCKED this quizmaster as 4 of the 5 teams submitted answers after the 10-point clue was read! And our last team didn't wait much longer - they submitted right after the 8-point clue was read! A trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" must have been on everyone's minds because all of our teams correctly guessed I was talking about Disney World!

Round 5 started feeling quite familiar early on in the round. As teams answered question after question, the round's common thread became almost effortlessly clear. Without missing a beat, though with a few answered missed here and there, every team knew this round was all about their hometown - Seattle!

We headed back to Disney World for Round 6 where teams had to match Disney Dad's like King Triton to their kids (Ariel, duh). Both Lime Skittles and Flag Hags had perfect matches - and doubled up to score 20 points in the round!

Our night's final round proved much tougher than our teams initially anticipated. Teams needed to name 10 of the 12 Britney Spears songs that have ever reached the top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Seriously, this was way harder than it seemed. There were valiant efforts from Lime Skittles and Poopy Slippers who hoped a double-or-nothing gamble would put them on top. But, their guesses included too many of her early hits, which never broke the top 10! Flag Hags, Team Awesome and Morning Wood played it a bit safer and were able to eek 5-6 points out of the round.

In the end, Flag Hags secured their third win in a row with a whopping 71 points! Lime Skittles finished in 2nd with 55 points. And newcomers Team Awesome finished in 3rd with 52 points.

Thank you everyone who joined in this week! Come back and see me and the crew at the Lumber Yard for another fantastic night of trivia! Same time, same place.

It was another awesome week of King Trivia at the Lumber Yard and weekly regulars, the Flag Hags, started off the night with a bang! Not only did they know all of the right answers in Round 1, but they went Double-or-Nothing to snag 12 points!

Rounds 2 and 3 found all of our teams pretty evenly matched. Teams had almost no problems identifying "popular" video games by their logo (it helps to live in the birth place of most video game franchises) and clearly everyone has spent time in the Big Apple.

It was Round 4, as always, that turned the tables for returning champs, Lime Skittles. After the 8 point clues, they knew I was describing Mr. Hamilton himself - Lin Manuel Miranda and took the lead! While Penetrative Friends and Flag Hags couldn't find the answer and each lost a point.

Round 5 proved knowing the common theme isn't always helpful in getting all of the answers correct. Lime Skittles knew all of the answers could be combined with "blood," i.e. Blood Orange or Blood Pressure, but this caused them to guess incorrectly for a few of the questions and they only scored 5 points. Flag Hags, however, couldn't nail the common theme, but still managed to take 8 points.

In our matching round, Round 6, it was clear all of our teams were familiar with popular diets. All three teams not only got all of the answers right, but they all went Double-or-Nothing and each scored 20 points!

Heading into the final round, Flag Hags reclaimed the lead with 52 points. Lime Skittles were right behind with 50 points. And Penetrative Friends were still in reach of the top spot with 45.

Our final round, however, was a bit harder. Teams needed to identify the 10 youngest US presidents (at the time of their inauguration). And, given that most of these men were in office prior to 1900 - only one team, Lime Skittles, was able to correctly identify 5 of the possible 10, while our other two teams named just 3 (Flag Hags) and 4 (Penetrative Friends).

That two point difference in Round 7 meant Lime Skittles and Flag Hags were in a 55-55 point lock for first place and we needed a tie-breaker to decide the game!

Playing "Price is Right" rules, the two teams had to guess the closest number without going over to answer, "How many songs are featured in the first season of My Crazy Ex Girlfriend."

In the end, Flag Hags dethroned Lime Skittles and took first place! Penetrative Friends finished in 3rd on the scoreboard - but 1st for creative answers and sassy commentary.

A big thanks as always to the Lumber Yard and Patrick and Nikki for keeping the teams "hydrated" throughout the game! We'll see everyone again next week - same time, same place
