Another fun evening of trivia at LvlUpRoar. The PowerPoint was boomin, beers were flowin, and questions were being answered. A total of 8 teams competed this evening, a mix of regulars and newcomers. Our regular teams all got out the gate strong with 4 doubles but it was “win and go home” successfully doubling 3 rounds in row giving them a big lead. However, the faster you rise the faster you fall. Missing a double in the matching round gave Red Lantern a 3 point lead going into the finals. Housekey was in 3rd place and needed a successful Hail Mary to even have a chance, and they did! Successfully doubling the final round when no other teams did, Houskey ended up in a direct tie with Red Lantern and a tie breaker was had. Houskey got the question right on the nose, and took home first place tonight! Thanks everyone for playing!

This will go down as the most epic game of all time. There was a private event until 8 PM this evening and my fear was this would scare the regulars away, quite the contrary! Patient as they were, they all happily showed up one hour later and played a great game of trivia. On top of this, there was a lot of overflow from the private event of boozed-up tech employees who wanted to answer some questions. So a total of 13 teams competed tonight with a record of 50+ players!! A triumphant return of Red Lantern promised some good competition, but it was in fact Fat Kyle & Housekey & Win and Go Home who got out the gate quickly with a double. Housekey began to narrowly outpace them as the game continued and ended up with a 3 point lead going into the final round. However, an unfortunate double attempt cost him all of his round 7 points, so Fat Kyle was able to sneak into 1st place on the very last round, with "Win and Go Home" coming in 3rd. A well-played game all around!!

I know I say this a lot, but this was one of the most fun games of trivia I have ever called. We had a total of 10 teams competing tonight for the top 3 prizes. I'll just go ahead and say it, Fat Kyle and the boys played their hearts out tonight. Successfully doubling in 4 different rounds, scoring perfectly in another, and well in the other 2, giving them an overall score of 82 and a runaway lead. However, there was an amazing race for 2nd and 3rd place. 4 teams (Bronco Buddies, Hark A communist, Housekey, and Win & Go Home) all were neck and neck until the finals. So close, in fact, for the first time ever in my Trivia career (and I'm betting last time it will ever happen) there was a 4 way tie for 2nd place. 4 teams competed in a tiebreaking question where "Hark, A communist" was the closest and "Win & Go Home was right behind them." An amazing game overall and I look forward to next week!
