We had a record showing for trivia at The Bungalow tonight! We had 20 teams that stuck it out for all seven rounds, and more than 90 players came out to test their knowledge. Everyone barreled through the entire game was fully engaged the entire time!

Noy sure if it was just because everyone was thrilled that Halloween is behind us at the holidays are upon us, but the atmosphere was just sensational at tonight's trivia. The question set felt well balanced and our teams ended up scoring pretty high, which I think makes everyone have a better time.

However, there was not a clear winner for much of the game. The scores were quite unpredictable at times. One of our top teams, I Lost my Virginity At, started the game up with several failed double or nothing attempts and a wrong answer on the Guess Who round. At one point in the game, they had -1 point! However, as the game progressed and they landed a few more successful double or nothing attempts, they ended up near the middle of the pack.

Tonight's winning team earned its spot after a successful tiebreaker around for first place! It's not every day that first place is determined off of a tie-breaking question!

The energy was truly the best it's been since we began trivia at The Bungalow and I'm excited for our next iteration. The Bungalow is hosting a private event next week, so no Trivia then, but we will be back on November 17 and ready for another fabulous showdown of King Trivia here in Santa Monica. We hope you'll join us!

Halloween trivia was a smash at The Bungalow! Thirteen (ooh, how spooky!) laughed and learned through seven rounds of trivia. Our players started off hot with several teams successfully deploying the double or nothing option right off the bat, allowing nearly a quarter of the teams to finish round 1 with 12 points. 

The picture round stumped more teams than I would have imagined, but the Halloween theme round helped many teams redeem their ranking.

My favorite round, round 4 Guess Who, stumped them again. No team submitted an answer at the 10 point option, but teams started answering - some correctly - at the 6 pointer.

Find the Connection allowed our teams a chance to shine as many of them found the CLUE and solved the mystery connection between questions 1-9 in round 5.

The crowd at the Bungalow might not be political pundits as matching the president to his slogan proved challenging for many. Some might say that round 6 was a bunch of malarchy!

As we entered the final round, the scores were neck and neck for a handful of the night's top performers. Our LA-based audience donned their virtual Mickey ears and had to identify all the lands at Disneyland Park. Some teams successful doubled launching them toward the top of our leader board.

As the teams sat at the edge of their seats for me to read off the final standings, a roar erupted when there was a tie for third. We launched our second-ever tie-breaker round at The Bungalow trivia between regulars, I Lost My Virginity At, and newcomers, Monster Mash. Maybe it was beginner's luck as Monster Mash pulled off the victory claiming third place.

it was a terrific night of trivia and I'm already excired for next week! 

QUIZ RECAP

Spooky Szn has reached the Bungalow Santa Monica! The patio is covered in ghoulish decor. Goblins, zombies and creatures from your nightmares alight upon railings and ledges, and lurk in corners. The west coast sunset was diminished by artificial red, orange and purple lights that illuminated SM's spookiest haunt. 

The tricks and treats crept inside the main bar area where, fortunately, trivia didn't scare anyone away. Our teams barreled through seven rounds of questions, seated on couches and chairs beneath rafters covered in cobwebs and a blood stained canoe. 

The Halloween decor at The Bungalow is a mastermind's marvel, which complimented our mid-October trivia contest. We dimmed the lights while we summoned only the brightest minds. 

Flying High, a group of coworkers, nabbed the top spot. Longtime top competitors I Lost My Virginity At came in second and newcomers and personal team name favorites, I'm Going Down I'm Yelling Kimber, places third. 

The Halloween ambiance was strong tonight, but is sure to be even more amplified next week! I might even come in costume. Will you?
