The weather may be fluctuating a bit, but trivia at Tubby Hook Tavern remains the same!

Five teams made up of a mixture of crafty veterans and curious newcomers battled it out on a warmer than usual November evening for trivia supremacy. It's a regular occurence to see Sharper Than Peas in the winners circle, but slip ups on Rounds 4 and 7 relegated them to outside observers this week; an inherent risk when one dances regularly with the fickle Double or Nothing.

That opened the door for some others to get their first taste of fame and glory. The uncharacteristically early Latecomer finally placed after many weeks of just barely missing the cut, but it was first-timers One Horn 2022 and Mandrewlin Period that took the top prizes prompting them both to declare "we'll be back next week" at the end of the night.

We look forward to seeing them defend their crowns and look forward to you trying to topple them!

It was another fun night of trivia at Tubby Hook, wherein Sharper Than Peas failed to live up to their intent to come in third place by winning an extremely competitive game against regulars Trial by Combat and talented newcomer Latecomer.

What better way to take shelter during a dark and stormy night at Halloween than by sharing laughs and celebrations with friends at trivia?

That's just what 8 teams did last night as they traded bumps in the night and questions of "who's there?" with slaps on the forehead and questions of "how did I get that wrong?" With Tubby Hook decked out for the spookiest season of them all and a playlist to match ("Monster Mash" anyone?), the regular lead changes throughout the 7 trivia rounds had everyone looking over their shoulders and feeling like they were being followed.

Crafty veterans Sharper Than Peas seemed doomed to just be observers through 4 rounds until hitting 2 Double or Nothings in the last 3 rounds ultimately propelled them to victory while a well-timed Double or Nothing for Marriage on the the Rocks in the final round assured them of a 3rd place finish. Though a prize was just out of reach for the 5th place trio of 3Ts and 2D, they still pulled off a Double or Nothing at the end by identifying the 10 Star Wars characters to appear in the most live action films, which is impressive considering none of them have ever seen a single Star Wars film. Just goes to show you that win or lose, there's always something to celebrate with King Trivia at Tubby Hook.
