When the final results were revealed, the top four teams were separated by just four points. Four Points!!

QUIZ RECAP

So here's the thing: quizmasters are reliably solid, stalwart, intrepid folks who remain unfazed in the face of those unexpected twists and turns that typically occur during an evening of stimulating trivia action.

We are the rudder that steers the ship. We're the lighthouse that provides a guiding beacon during the heaviest storms. We are fearless! Unyielding! Rock solid! We are...Quizmasters!

That said, it's gonna take more than a team name referencing one of the scariest films in the horror genre to rattle my cage! But still, with a team name like It's All For You, Damien! I gotta say, visions of The Omen kept dancing in my head.

And it sure didn't help that the winning team's captain was a cute little kid! Named Damien! And he kept...looking...at me. Thank God they won, or I might not sleep tonight!!

It is difficult to describe the ambiance and esprit de corps that infuses the crowd at The Brewyard Beer Company in Burbank. Difficult, but not impossible.

Tucked away under the overpass at Western Ave., it feels a bit like a secret gathering spot - part speakeasy; part private club. Inhabited by the friendliest, funnest, most quick-witted people you'd ever want to rub elbows with.

Oh, and competitive. Did I mention how competitive these enthusiastic quizinators can be? Pretty dang competitive, that's for sure. But they're really nice about it.

You really oughta check it out. You'll love it. I promise.
