What a game we had last night at Brewyard Beer Company in Gelndale! After our first five rounds, "Talk Nerdy To Me" held a comfortable and seemingly insurmountable lead. On their heels, "Mom Can You Pick Me Up I'm Scared" and "Here for the Beer" were hopeful for an opportunity to leapfrog each other, but not before we paused the game for our drinking round; Redneck Bingo! If you're unfamiliar, Redneck Bingo is a game of five short rounds where each team chooses one stereotypical lyric that might be heard in any country song. Words or phrases like "baby', "y'all", "truck", "mud", "beer", "a city or state", "reference to another musician", or "make or model of a vehicle". We then listen to :60 seconds of a random country song and whichever team's word/phrase is uttered first, wins that round. It came down to the wire this week! "Mom Can You Pick Me Up I'm Scared" and newcomers "Led Tasso" ended the first five rounds in a tie before going head-to-head in a sudden redneck-death-match, where "Led Tasso" eventually walked away the victor earning three points off of their chosen lyric, "girl". After we returned to our game and wrapped up Round 6, things really got interesting... In Round 7, our regulars "Here for the Beer" invoked their double-or-nothing option propelling them passed second place and into first place, effectively stealing the game in dramatic fashion! Out of my four experiences at Brewyard, this week was particularly special. We also implemented a sounboard for the first time to add some fun through sound effects and clips, which I hope I speak for our teams when I say it was well-received.
