St. Patricks Weekend at Busby's

Definitely brought the best out to play this week. With a St. Patricks day theme it was a test to see who had the lucky of the Irish on their side. Cardinal Rosenberg made a strong statement in the early round deciding to double up and jump to first place with 12 points with a 7 point spread from the 2 place contenders.  After a tough second round however Mr. No Poster Shop, closed shop and the round as our new 1st place contender. Cardinal Rosenberg didn't let that phase them, they came back to dominate the 3rd, 4th, and 5th round, as well as our bonus round winners of the night reclaiming 1st place with 39 pts. Meanwhile Mr. No Poster Shop was busy going neck and neck with I Like Turtles for second place with teams tied at 34.   Somewhere in between that battle Mr. No Poster Shop must have found a leprechaun and force it's gold over because they came back in rounds 6 & 7 with a total of 53 points to close out another week as the reigning champs at Busby's!

League Play's Season 9 doesn't begin for another couple weeks (April 2). But tonight we had a super mini tournament of champions at Busby's West. Some of our top trivia teams were competing against each other. Yes, Mr. No Poster Shop was there. Riggins Rigs and Streets of Rage also played. Kickass Cousin, Cardinal Rosenberg, and even Spelling Does Cunt (NOT Count) were there, too. In the end, Mr. No Poster shop showed they're ready for the Tournament of Champions and took 1st place (87 points). They scored successful doubles in Rounds 1, 3, and 6 for the win. Streets of Rage finished in 2nd place (72). The only thing better than coming in 2nd place (well, besides winning 1st) was the return of Allen. Thanks again Allen for serenading us with "Nice n' Slow." Cardinal Rosenberg took 3rd (71), just one point behind Streets of Rage. Don't forget to wear green this Sunday for St. Patty's Day of Recovery!

And the Oscar goes to... Three Billboards, I mean The Shape of Water, I mean Mr. No Poster Shop! Congrats again on winning 1st place! Mr. No Poster Shop took the lead with a successful double in Round 1 and never looked back. Cardinal Rosenberg took 2nd place and Hufflepuff, Puff, Pass finished in 3rd. Don't think anyone missed the Harry Potter round from last week.
