Another great night - started with a Chamber of Commerce mixer event and ended with a winner. Let's dive into it:

 

Round 1

  • Favorite moment: A team answering just "crying" instead of La Llorona... I'm pretty sure that there isn't a Mexican folktale called "crying", also it's round 1, drink some water.

Round 2

  • Favorite moment: Getting into a disagreement with the Player Haters Ball about whether "Free Trade" was the same as "Fair Trade"... I'm the judge! Whatever I says goes!

Round 3

  • Favorite moment: Team Gene answering McBeth instead of Macbeth. "The McBeth, seasonal Danish sandwich only offered in April from McDonalds"

Round 4

  • Favorite moment: Batting Zero successfully answering the 8 point clue - Elizabeth Banks fans in the house.

Round 5

  • Favorite moment: Thinking about how a tiny organ with an unclear purpose feels.

Round 6

  • Favorite moment: Martians going huge and successfully going double or nothing!

Round 7

  • Favorite moment: Hearing the crowd go wild after Jamie revealed she won a car on the Price is Right!! Also the the Martians winning the tie breaker for third place.

Whew! Another week down - what started out as a low turnout turned out to be another packed house by the end of the game. Lots of great moments, check out the recap below -

 

Round 1

  • Favorite moment: Team Bella answering that Dumbo was the movie that shut down many ticketing websites....

Round 2

  • Favorite moment: Altobelli guessing that answer 4 (Sister Act) was "Nuns with Guns". Not sure if that is a real movie but I absolutely would be down to see it.

Round 3

  • Favorite moment: Having to repeat question 3 I don't even know how many times... Guys, you're still not going to know who Donna Tartt is no matter how many times I repeat the question.

Round 4

  • Favorite moment: So many teams guessing Amelia Earheart after hearing the first clue - only then to kick themselves three clues later. Amelia Earheart was from Municiberg right? Right?

Round 5

  • Favorite moment: The dead silence in the room when I read out what the connection was from all the previous 9 answers. Utter confusion - "HOW IS THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD AN ARTIST????"

Round 6

  • Favorite moment: People being so confused that G?ell park is in Barcelona.

Round 7

  • Favorite moment: The impressive display of random white dude name generation from all the teams that had no idea about Entourage.

 

Really starting to develop some rapport in the room and be more confident with each week. Having fun - can't wait for next week!

Whoaaa danny! What a wild week this was! I'm loving this new sound system at Leroy's and loving this great audience (regulars and newcomers) each week. Fresh hot recap below!

 

Round 1

  • Favorite moment: BST Fan Club answering that the Rook is the diagonal piece on a chess board.... wow

Round 2

  • Favorite moment: BST Fan Club thinking that somehow the Settlers of Catan cards were Pokemon cards.... I choose you BRICK. Ugh I don't know what is more embarrassing that I clearly know the difference between the two or that they got it so wrong.

Round 3

  • Favorite moment: HPELS randomly having a conversation about Tortilla Soup while I was announcing the Tortilla Soup question on this round.

Round 4

  • Favorite moment: Bobcats taking it to the last clue to correctly submit... On Rosanne with initials of J.G. hmmmmmm.

Round 5

  • Favorite moment: Announcing that somehow multiple teams were able to figure out how the answers were connected. HOW?!

Round 6

  • Favorite moment: Letting the whole room know that SOMEHOW BST Fan Club - a team of many adults - was a full 21 points behind the Bobcats - a team of 3 adults and 2 BABIES. HOW!?

Round 7

  • Favorite moment: Having the final round come down to a SUCCESSFUL DOUBLE OR NOTHING to catapult the HPELS into 2nd place!
