Big big news at Leroy's.... NEW SOUND SYSTEM!!!

 

And wow what a huge difference it made. Smaller group of HIGHLY HIGHLY COMPETITIVE TEAMS. You could cut the tension in the air with a knife at times. Recap coming atcha-

 

Round 1

  • Favorite moment: The crowd audibly groaning at the first question... I guess Barbie and Ken trivia is pedestrian...

Round 2

  • Favorite moment: Having to announce the theme of the round multiple times... How fitting... I can't recall! My mom loved this. MAAAAAAM

Round 3

  • Favorite moment: Not having a single Indian Olympic sport enthusiast in the house. And people not having any idea that field hockey was an Olympic sport.

Round 4

  • Favorite moment: Everyone finally understanding what the situation is with this question and not needing it explained a ba-jillion times.

Round 5

  • Favorite moment: When the entire Bubbles team erupted in the... other version of the Yankee Doodle song... Behave!

Round 6

  • Favorite moment: Bubbles going huge and successfully going double or nothing!!!! 20 points from last to first.

Round 7

  • Favorite moment: Calculating the scores and coming up with.... A TIE FOR FIRST?!?!? Bubbles and The Buddy Bunch go to overtime!

Tie Breaker

  • Favorite moment: Bubbles guessing that there were only 320 stairs in the Eiffel Tower...

Another monster week at Leroy's. It was a fairly large turnout full of rambunctious trivia-ers and noisy bar folk. Our two resident teams - Player Haters Ball and the Buddy Bunch squared off against 7 new teams. Let's dive in!

 

  • Usual announcements of prizes and extended happy hour go off without a hitch.
  • Based on how jolly everyone already is... I can tell it's going to be an exciting night.

Round 1

  • Favorite moment: Realizing I have no idea what the Roman numeral for LIII stands for and having to conference with the crowd live and direct.

Round 2

  • Favorite moment: Having a team try to be slick and submit an answer of "Kelly Kelly"... That doesn't fly in these here parts. Also, nobody is named Kelly Kelly

Round 3

  • Favorite moment: A team submitting an answer of "Kevin Bacon" as the English engineer who developed the first practical alkaline fuel cell. Kevin Bacon is not an engineer or English. But other than those two small items this answer would have been correct.

Round 4

  • Favorite moment: People submitting answers for the 10 point clue and then immediately regretting the decision (audible groan from audience) as I read the 8 point clue. Al Capone was a lot of things - but definitely not an actor folks.

Round 5

  • Favorite moment: Squirrelnado arguing with me that "Snow" is not actually Jon Snow's last name - and that according to the show it's probably __________ (censored to prevent spoilers).

Round 6

  • Favorite moment: Squirrelnado proceeding to then accidentally break their 3rd glass of the night. Less arguing about Game of Thrones questions and more focusing on coordination people.

Round 7

  • Favorite moment: Having 3 teams go HUGE on the last round with successful double or nothing attempts.

 

What an evening! Will the 4 Mo's come back to rule the nest next week? Will Player Haters Ball rise back to the top? Will anybody understand the rules for Round 4 on the first try? Get all these answers and more next week!

Round two at Leroy's!

This match was super exciting - neck and neck the entire way and The Buddy Bunch as a new victor to overthrow last weeks resident champion - The Player Haters Ball.

Here's my recap:

 

  • 7:00 pm and everyone is pumped to begin
  • $100 gift card, $50 gift card, $25 gift card prizes for first second and third place teams??? Whaaaat!?
  • Rules are announced and the games begin once again.

 

Round 1

  • Favorite moment: Debating whether Ibuprofen was the same as Acetaminophen... I'm the boss!!!

Round 2

  • Favorite moment: Announcing that I would accept Bruce or Caitlyn Jenner responses.

Round 3

  • Favorite moment: Pointing out that some people think grape and orange Dum Dum flavors are produced by mixing two random flavors...

Round 4

  • Favorite moment: Only having to explain this round twice for the audience to understand.

Round 5

  • Favorite moment: Having someone actually know who Lemony Snicket is.

Round 6

  • Favorite moment: Saying the word "titular" for the THIRD TIME in the night hahaha.

Round 7

  • Favorite moment: Having some teams mix Julia Roberts with Sandra Bullock....
