QUIZ RECAP

Proving once again that King Trivia fans aren't afraid of ANYTHING, a baker's dozen teams of fine, fun-loving folks turned out for a pre-Thanksgiving blast of autumnal competition last night on the Pitfire patio. And competition is exactly what they got!

And they call it Pitfire for a reason! The fire pit was a popular spot for players to do battle, and the numerous warmers scattered about the courtyard provided a cozy warm environment for the evening's competition.

But it was the players that really brought the heat. A two-way tie for first AND third place resulted when the UnderDawgs and A Team Has No Name finished with identical scores of 74!

But wait! There's more! Go Broncos! finished in a lock with Puppy Pals Forever just two points back with matching 72s! The Underdawgs secured their first-place win by offering the closest estimate for the longest leg span of the biggest spider on record (which the Guinness Book of World Records says is 11 inches.

Oddly, A Team Has No Name said those spider legs measured a hearty 26 inches in length, which makes ya wonder what kind of ungodly huge spiders they have at their place!

QUIZ RECAP

The Pitfire Patio was a sublime spot for enjoying the autumn evening with pizza and trivia last night. The pitfire was blazing, the heaters did their work well, and a big ol' supermoon made the night sky a thing to behold.

The Mixed Bag (who looked a LOT like Pitfire regulars Westeros Baptist Church) scored an impressive 88 points to secure the win, with A Team Has No Name breathing down their necks with a solid 76.

It's always nice when a team of newbies scores in the money - or in the gift card, as the case may be. Such was the case for Pizza John, who didn't know much about our weekly trivia contest when they arrived. They came for the pizza, stayed for the quiz, and won third place. Well done, kids!

QUIZ RECAP

King Trivia fans gathered on the Pitfire patio Tuesday night to match wits and find respite from the election night tumult. While votes were being tallied to see who would win the White House, Westeros Baptist Church was winning the quiz. On this warm November evening, the WBC clan played under a different name: "Cyanide? Why Yes!  Don't Mind if I Do!" Make of that what you will.

A Team Has No Words (aka A Team Has No Name) finished a close second, and would have taken the top spot if they hadn't stumbled out of the gate with unsuccessful double-or-nothing attempts in both Round 1 and Round 2.

Bill For First Lady rounded out our top three, though by the end of the quiz, it was lookin' like Bill's gonna miss out on that assignment.

We hope you elect to come on out to the patio next week when we meet yet again for another stimulating round of trivia. (See what I did there with the word "elect"? I LOVE wordplay!!)
