Who wasn't at Monday trivia at Rocco's? YOU! You seriously need to come. The pizza smells so amazing that I almost stole a slice from a little child.

Mr. T Says... took an early lead with a few successful doubles, but Sad Rockets rocketed - eh - to the top in the second half. It came down to the last round and THEY TIED! Sad Rockets took the titles (and the $40 gift certificate) with the tie breaker. The Frisky Kitties held on respectfully to their third position place and made it to the podium.

Two months ago, a boy had a dream. This plucky young-ish farm boy got off the bus with a twinkle in his eye and came to Rocco's Culver City to audition to be a quizmaster. Now he returns to run the very show that gave him his start. And what a homecoming it was - cheers, thunderous applause, and teams yelling at me when I caught them cheating. It's really the life. What a dream...

It was great to be back at Rocco's, though I wished my sound equipment worked better! Next week, I swear. Too bad not many people could name Drake's #1 songs, but I get it. He'll always be Jimmy Brooks to me.

PADDINGTON KILLS came out swinging with successful doubles at the top, but slipped once we got to the Guess Who. They just couldn't decide which Kennedy I was talking about. Through a brief kerfuffle with five teams in arm's reach of first place, they regained a comfortable lead and won.

Yet, the biggest heartbreak comes with the drinking round as Paddington Kills was poised to win with guessing closest to the area of Rhode Island, off by 212 square miles. But a last minute addition by a new team cancelled that as they were off by only 3 SQUARE MILES! I would've called them out for cheating if they weren't sitting right in front of me when they answered.

PHILOSOPHICAL DISTINCTION held onto his bridesmaid spot that he had throughout the game (and declined to get his picture for the website because of the fame involved) while BEYONCE x 2 squeaked past JUST THE TWO OF US to clinch 3rd.

Just The Two Of Us deserve a shout out for the best guesses at Drake songs with "Drake Me Up (Before You Go Go)" and "Drake On Me."

That's the every present motto of a little King Trivia game growing in Culver City at Rocco's tavern.

In the middle of the summer, heatwave time in Los Angeles, 13 teams came on out, and not 6 that grew to 9, but fell back to 7, but in the end 13 teams answered 1 round of questions. But 13 here for the entire go -- came to play. QB jersey numbers, the Unauthorized Biography of Charles Barkley, and knowing that French Guiana is in South America and not attached to France, that's what separate the money winners from those that just had themselves a winning good time.

Mr. T says Curlin is Cool...Fool was tired of all finishes other than 1st, and put a stop to it, with a resounding 6th round successful double up, sneaking past early game front-runners Philosophical Distinction, and holding off late-game upstarts Salty Crew.
