QUIZ RECAP

After a couple of weeks off, it felt great for this Quizmaster to come back home to Schilling Cider House! A lot can change in a few weeks and that was certainly the case this evening, with a fresh face behind the mic for Round 3 (shout-out to my lovely assistant for the evening, future QM Liz) and some new teams shakin' up the scorecard.

But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Monday night regulars Asbestos for the Rest of Us returned as a one-person team, once again coming in last place in the game (but first place in our hearts). While not many people would mistake the cover of Third Eye Blind's debut album for "Vanessa Carlton with a Migraine," if you squint hard enough, it's there.

Austrailiummmm? and Cider Hoes Rules put up quite the fight, with Cider Hoes Rules receiving 10% off their tab for best team name of the evening.

We had a close runner-up for that top team name prize with eventual first place winners Nat Your Average Bitches. What can I say? Now that I've had a team named after me, I've finally achieved Quizmaster Nirvana.

Schilling Cider House! You guys were such a pleasure. Thank you for making this California boy feel so welcome in Seattle. The competition was fierce between all our teams and the cider flowed like...cider!

My Long Lost Appendix won the swag round and Menopausal Gandolf won 10% off of their check for winning the best name prize!

In the end The Trivial Group won our top prize, a $50 Schilling Gift Card by getting just one point more than the aptly named Stable Geniuses! They won a $25 gift card for their smarts as well.

It's still Washington Cider Week so head on back to Schilling this week for some more Ciders and we will be back next Monday for more spicy trivia action!

QUIZ RECAP

It was another Manic Monday at Schilling Cider House last night; the word is out that it's the place to be for Monday Night Trivia(tm).

This week, the absence of consecutive-week winners Sith Happens/Leave Room for Jesus/Trivia Neutron Bomb meant good news AND bad news for last week's second place finishers Satan For the Win, who came out intending to give the defending champs a run for their money.

Newcomers Transplants kept things interesting, doubling down for double the points on Round #3 and consistently crushing their answers on most other rounds. That being said, Satan For The Win was just too dominant to overcome, taking the W at the end of the night. Will they be back next week to face off at last with Sith Happens? It's anyone's guess.

Another team of newcomers, Turtle Power, took the final spot on the podium with third place, just edging out regulars My Long Lost Appendix and Go Team Venture!

It's Trivia Day?, Lopi, and latecomers Javier and Brandon all put up valiant efforts, but they'll need to step their games up next week in order to win it all.

All in all, it was another fun night with a lotta laughs, a lotta cider, and a couple cute dogs. Come join the fun next week -- 7pm at Schilling Cider House!
