QUIZ RECAP

Fun night at Slater's 50/50 with 8 teams! Right of the bat, we had team Mike Tyson's Speech School double down and get a whopping 12 points, putting them in the lead since round 1. I think the coolest question from round 1 was "what orange vegetable did the British Military claim helped pilots see in the dark?" The answer was carrots! Very cool!

We had everyone have such a good time tonight as we were going through rounds. Round 2, the picture round, seemed pretty easy for people, as we had more than 4 teams double down and get 16 points. Great job everyone! Clearly everyone knew their pro sports teams and the birds related to these sports teams.

Slater's was super fun and glad everyone came out to play!

QUIZ RECAP

A fine night out at Slater's 50/50 this Tuesday! We had a good mixture of teams, both returning and new which provided a good, fun game for all. However, we all learned some great things tonight in several true The More You Know moments (cue shooting star with WordArt graphic), such as:

• The Baby Cheeses learned real quick to differentiate their Beatles as Paul McCartney's shoelessness ruined their attempt at a Double or Nothing in Round 1. However, they made up for it in the end by immediately knowing all of the nations that make up the UN Security Council. Pay attention in Social Studies, kids. You never know when it will pay off.
• I learned from Area 51 that Dog the Bounty Hunter used to have a pig that they tried to train as a dog. It wasn't the answer for the pig pic in Round 2, but I enjoyed learning about it anyway.
• The Whiskey Boys learned to trust their gut on the Round 5 theme as they took a chance and got the flower/plant theme right on the money!
• We all had a collective A-HA! moment in learning what a corolla was (the non-Toyota or -Adam kind, at least): the collective petals on a flower make up a "corolla". (again, cue WordArt shooting star with feel good music)
• And finally, British slang threw us all for a loop. The only thing annoying about the word "chuffed" is that it describes someone's happiness and apparently "bagsy" is the same as "dibs!"...I dunno, it just doesn't have the same ring to it.

But after all was said and done and I decided to not be a dick and make the spelling of Terminator: Genisys count, our newbies, That's What She Said, took home first prize! Rounding out our Top 3 gift card-getters for the night were Area 51 (despite constant complaints that Tuesday just isn't their night) and Mike Tyson's Speech School (who, I swear are getting most of their answers from their teammates' newborn).

QUIZ RECAP

There were a lot of laughs tonight at Slater's 50/50! Some great answers were turned in and some not-so-great ones that we all got a chuckle out of, which are always encouraged!

The first came at the hands of Buster Moon from Sing since almost no one knew who he was, so we got answers like "Mr. Koala" and "Fuzzface" and "Matthew McKoalahey".

Next up, everyone eventually figured out Pulp Fiction as the answer for Round 4, but not before we got Sophie's Choice as a guess from Trelawney & Lockhart...which they found out was wrong the second that Quentin Tarantino was announced as the director.

In Round 5, Mike Tyson's Speech School insisted that beach volleyball was called "sand volleyball"! While logical...still wrong. And we all got a good laugh at everyone's confusion over what the heck an "Asian plurality" is, even though most people figured out the answer was "Hawaii".

But after all the laughter, we had our Top 3 emerge from the dust: newcomers to Slater's, The Implication, took home first prize! Mike Tyson's Speech School and Baby Cheeses rounded out the prize winners to make for a strong showing for all three teams.

Special shoutout to Trelawney and Lockhart for making it to a double digit score, The 'Rents for diving in with us with double babies, and Team Jesus for returning to us and playing another round despite not losing their keys in an elevator shaft this time.
