QUIZ RECAP

Pittsburgh weather is messing with us yet again.  WE were supposed to get snow on Tuesday, but the storm missed the city "by that much."  Today, it thought all darned day about raining and on my bus/walk trek to Aslin tonight, the sky spit a few drops on the industrial strength case of my new-to-me mobile phone (S22 Ultra for those following along with boring things).  However--no actual weather weathered.

Aslin's Trivianistas brought the competition tonight.  16 teams answered questions about royalty, fathers and figures (statues), and the Stillers (not THOSE, Yinzers, the acting family!) among other topics.

In the end, Doodle Gang came out on top on their second time with us (i hear that's the charm)!  Regulars The Quizzantine Empire were just one spot out of first and Team A brought up the rear of our prizewinners this evening.

Blue Team won the soon-to-be-famous You're Not the Worst prize.  They were the 2nd to last place team still in the bar at the end of the night!  They won a snazzy certificate and a pack of stickers curated by meeee!

Wrong Answer of the Game:  Poor Paddington Bear.  Instead of rightly putting that his favorite sammich spread was "marmalade," one ambitious (Australian) team wrote "Vegemite."  I should have played Land Down Under as a thank-you.  I promise, it was running in my head!

We also started League Play tonight.  What's that?  It's a way for you to track your team's points over all the games in the country between now and June 30!  Plus, there are extra special prizes at the end from KT HQ.  Season XX is UNDERWAY.

QUIZ RECAP

The unseasonable nearly 60-degree F weather still blew in 22 teams this evening!  It was a tough one tonight; I asked teams to consider places of worship in various countries--no one will ever forget that Vatican City is a different country than Italy.

They then had to work out the "middle 10" states in terms of population.  Talk about extending that grey matter.  I hurt my brain just trying to work out how many people were in Colorado.

I may have mentioned that far far to many people have played Superman over various properties and that it was unfair that Christopher Reeve and George Reeves both played him.  That's just confusing!

Quizzers enjoyed the reference to the "mile high" club, and groaned mightily when they worked out the Guess Who answer (Lucy Liu).

Wrong answer of the game tonight:

In answer of a question asking what music festival used to take place in Washington State...one team answered "Burning Man" (that one is in the inhospitable playa of Black Rock City).  I can guarantee you that these are *far* different experiences.   😉
