Todays tuesday, so that means Music Bingo here at Aslin in the Strip! Tonight's bingo was another fun filled night full of the 70s and artists with the word "the" in their name! That's The Smiths, The Doors, Kool and the Gang, and The The's! Tonight's final round winner was also our first winner of the night, go Kate! Tonight we had a few new groups who said they had a blast and will be returning next week. That's great news to hear cause the more, the merrier! Until next time Aslin...
This week was a roller coaster, wasn't it? The Internet exploded into conversations about bears, men, and perhaps manbears. So far, no one seems to have made the reasonably obvious case the the one literary representation we have of a small child interacting with bears, she was kind of the one who was a pain, and the bears did not, in fact, harm her 😉 So, I'm still team bear--but I'll also probably die saying "here kitty kitty" to a Tazmanian Devil, so let's not use me as a role model, kay?
The weather here was also a bit on the odd side. 80+ degrees for the last few days. Egads. But that does explain the Strip District (our neighborhood) exploding into food trucks, live music, bar garage doors open, and people generally enjoying the out-of-doors after nearly a month of rain.
The few, the brave, the air-conditioned joined me tonight. Just the 2 of Us rocked our worlds with an 87 point first place. That is the two person team in the photos, and if it helps, the quiz has a maximum of 110 points, so none to shabby at all. HOA After Dark just squeaked out their 2nd place win over Tita's Tata's by a single point.
I was grateful tonight that we had a question about Pittsburgh--particularly, what artist has his museum here. It's the largest museum in the US dedicated to the works and life of a single artist and every single team got Andy Warhol. I was going to have to send them for some Yinzer re-education if they didn't!
Oh, and in answer to the burning question of the night, .ly is the top domain for Libya, but it *does* seem that its use in things like bit.ly (to shorten really long web URLs) and the like is why it's such a popular top level domain (TLD). Extra trivia with your trivia!
Hope to see some returners (not the zombie sort) next week. All kinds of fun things going on in town this weekend, so be safe, take public transit, and keep on quizzin'!

I'm not sure if you follow groups on Facebook and Instagram dedicated to weird architecture, but Pittsburgh figures heavily in many of them, including one discussing "death stairs." Yes, you know just what I mean. Today someone posted the N side stairs featured here. Note the bike rail to walk your ride up/down! I really want to get some Matchbox cars and stage a video though. 😉
We learned so many things tonight, including that our digital scoring platform allows for emojis! Thanks for the pictures everyone.
At the end, Nicholas Cage Fan Club, who took an early lead, came in on top beating regulars Cassie's Lassies by 10 points. Newcomers Just the 2 of Us surprised themselves by taking a solid third place! Gift cards and stickers for all!
What else amused us this evening?
We recalled that the Burlington (no longer a coat factory) has a heart in their logo, but not a button or a coat.
White Claw is *IN NO WAY* a setzer water. I mean, unless you're a Pitt student, and then maybe it's just all the same to you.
Most quizzers tonight identified Michelle Wolfe, but some of you smart alecs asked if it was Leah Remini (a white lady), Eva Longoria (another white lady) and...Rachel Dolezal?!?!? Yeah, she's also a white lady 😉
Well, as the weather grows warmer, remember that quiz will always be here for you, even in your darkest hour. See you next week, my trivianistas.
Keep your chins above water, your bridges safe, and keep on quizzin'.
