QUIZ RECAP

Hello there QuizDucklings!

I missed you all last week, but you better believe I wouldn't miss the first week of Pride!  I was so excited to celebrate and quiz with you all and we had a great night until Round 7 hit us in the feels like a tonne of bricks.  We're.  So.  Old!  In a round about "kids' slang" in 2023, as reported by parents, we did about the worst we've done as a group ever.  Yet, never fear, even though this word wasn't on the list, we can safely say "We quizz, we're rizz, get used to it!"

It was a good night and still light out even after finishing our tiebreaker! Du-Quiz-Nee broke the tie, leaving Shut the Front Door in second and Date Nights of the Round Table just a single point behind them for 3rd!  What a game.

What else did we learn besides the newfangled slang?  Well, PNC Place isn't being renamed Elizabeth Tower.  Big Ben, on the other hand, does now bear that moniker.

When presented with the picture of a Pronghorn, 8 out of 9 quiz teams had some answers: antelope, saola, gnu, orkai, dik-dik, and gazelle.  That's a lot of grazing animals.

Mortimer was the "working name" of our own Mickey Mouse (no longer TM), but not of either Homer Simpson or Dracula.

Glee was considered cursed because so many of the actors suffered horrible fates in real life (the correct answer), while Grey's Anatomy simply makes a habit of bumping off the characters we like the most.

BINGO RECAP

What a lovely day for music bingo at Aslin in the Strip District. Today, a few regulars returned looking to win some gift cards. Tonight categories were a 90s playlist and a playlist of artists thatve performed at Lolapolza. Our first place winners were lucky enough to win both 4th and 1st place, meaning they go home with both aslin sticker merch AND a $25 gift card. They told me they'll be back to win again next week, until then!
