I was a bit of a Bad Bunny (yes, a question reference) myself tonight.
I realized recently that KT updated the "quizzer-side" of their app and I hadn't seen it. I decided, against all common sense, to read and answer questions at once live! Yes, this means I didn't go over the questions in advance and was trying to replicate for myself the Trivianista experience.
I had a great time telling you all how awful I would have done alone compared to the amazing job teams did this evening, and I think you might have gotten a kick out of my failure to recognize the Bieber or refer to Ms. Mendes as "the one as Veronica in Riverdale!"
See? Not even Alex Trebek had all the answers in his brain. Just on the pretty cue cards.
Enough about me! More about me! Nah...
On to Players Unknown, who will now be known as those who hit 1st place 20 full points above their 2nd place rivals Crystal Methodist Church. The Church gave some much-needed side-eye to Needs an Espresso (the cafe at Aslin closes before 6) by 4 points, and all three managed to pull ahead of Shady Ladies & Co.
***Now, we don't always mention the 4th place team (they're out of the prize rankings), but these folk were running 1st place all night until an unwise double-or-nothing where they guessed that the film Troy was set...well...let's say they didn't say the Trojan War. We loved having you Shady! You've got to come re-challenge.
As usual, we're back next week: same bat time,, same bat pub.
It's really spring here in the 'Burgh, and every weekend brings a new adventure or festival. I'm grateful to all of you who come out to test your brains with me on Thursdays. You make me proud to be a triviyinzer!
Stay safe, keep hydrated, start wearing your sunscreen, and keep on quizzin'!

It's tuesday, so you know what that means: music bingo !! Tonight's music playlist was brought by the 80s and a solfége inspired playlist (the music theory majors will understand! That means songs with Do Re Me Fa So La (no Ti!) and Do in their titles! Tonight was another great night of music bingo, I look forward to the next!
Welcome to your weekly state of the world and the quiz. Safe in our little Aslin bubble, we could close out personal and world problems tonight, and focus on pricking our brains for the smallest of important answers. Outside, someone accidentally chained their bicycle to the wrong temporary fixture, but we had 0 luck finding them in the pub.
Inside, however, a battle raged on. Rattlesnake Bandits were *nearly* unseated last-minute from their first-place showing by We Love Mark (Mark himself was not present, so I hope he appreciates the 2nd place win in his name). Regulars Doodle Gang shot up at the end of the night to make a respectable 3rd place win.
Our minds were particularly stimulated tonight by trying to remember famous mother/daughter pairs (how on earth did I not realize that Tracee Ellis Ross was the daughter of Diana?!) and guess which countries had the most Nobel prizes. Just a little hint for our future: small African and South American countries aren't super likely to have an overwhelming number of awards. But you all pulled country names right out of the aether--bonus love points for creativity.
We'll be back next week, as always. Pack your thinking caps, bone up on local news and culture, and keep on quizzin.
