QUIZ RECAP

The crazy wind practically blew us into the bar at HP Deli on Monday night!  The score fluctuations were just as crazy as the wind, with Team August in a solid lead right from the beginning, but Don't Go Jason Waterfalls doing their classic schtick and zipping ahead right towards the end.  I asked the teams to recount their favorite Halloween story, and Julie from The Squid Game Plot Holes told us about the time she met fashion maven Anna Wintour, winning her team a free round of drinks.  Good times, man, good times!

QUIZ RECAP

Despite the thunder and lightning and rain, nine teams came to compete for the top prize at HP Deli on Monday night.  We shifted indoors, just like the olden days, so that no one got rained on, and it felt both odd and nostalgic.  Either way, George Michael Shannon Doherty were glad to be there, taking first place for the first time ever.  Don't Go Jason Waterfalls of course showed up - discouraged by nothing -  to win second.  And it was Jennifer Bryan and the Up All Night Teenagers that won the drinking round with a haiku themed around LA rain, but really theirs was about LA's reigning queen, Gwenyth Paltrow.  Fantastic stuff all around!

If I could put that video clip of Oprah giving out cars yelling, "You get a car! And you get a car!" but instead of cars she was giving out successful double downs, that's what I would put in here.

But I can't do that. I'm not a damn magician. 

However I can approve all the double downs that come in, and in this case there were many.  Don't Go Jason Waterfalls walked away with an amazing 96 points AND the drinking round.  Suffice it to say they were not the most popular team by the end of the night.  But dungus and dag dag took second on only their second night playing, so shout out to them.  Looking forward to their meteoric rise!
