QUIZ RECAP

Ten bang 'em up teams converged on the Public House last night to bash it out and hash it out with their brains. In public. It was exciting. I had to keep reminding them it was just a game, but there was no talking to them: they were ravenous for competition. Blood was in the air and they all wanted it.

Fifth over all but first in the drinking round was Focaccia. In honor of the night's regular host Max, the game was called "What The Hell Happened To Max?" in which people from each team came up to the mic to offer their best theory about where the hell Max was.  Focaccia won with what seemed like spoken word or something. It was weird and from another lpanet and I had to give it to them.

Adam from Hello, I'm Shelly Duvall won a free birthday drink by doing an impression of Tom Brady kissing his son but on his girlfriend Miranda. It was confusing and weird, but really brought the room together. Miranda said that was not the first time she'd played a little boy and I didn't want to know the details.

In second place tonight was Hello, I'm Shelly Duvall with 59 points (surely helped out by the Tom Brady impression) and dominating with 72 points was Slurp Dogs. They were quiet in the corner the whole night and those are always the ones you gotta watch out for. Come back to Hyperion Public next week and we'll do it again with King Trivia fun!

QUIZ RECAP

Fun was not just had by all at Hyperion Public trivia tonight. It was OWNED by all. The fun was just sitting there, minding its own business, and then three frothing trivia teams stormed in and made that fun their plaything. For ninety minutes! I saw it! The revelry quotient was so high I almost called the police. (Note: I did not call the police.)

Third placers Team Birria may have trailed in knowledge tonight (19 points), but they more than made up for it in the drinking round with a spot-on impression of Sir Alec Guiness referring to the night as a "wretched hive of scum and villainy." They didn't get it word for word, but it's the thought that counts.

In second place tonight with 28 points was The Accident-Prone Bitches and I didn't know why they were called that until their team captain revealed an enormous cast boot on her left foot. "Ah," I said. "I see!"

And dominating once again with 53 points was Globo-Chem. Conspiratorily cloistered at the side of the room, hunched in feverish brain churning, they rattled off more than enough correct answers to vanquish all challengers.

QUIZ RECAP

The Trivia happened all over the Hyperion Deli & Bar tonight! Well, mainly in the upper bar area, but you know what I mean! In honor of round 2, the drinking round was a competition to see who could do the best impression of Forrest Gump. One guy just started running and ran clean out the room. I would've given it to him, but he never came back. The winner was The Misfits because whatever impresson of Forrest Gump their player he did I did not recognize at all and for that victory must be awarded.

Congratulaitons to our second place finishers, Half Pint, with a nice 45-point final score. But Globo-Chem dominated the room to the chagrin of all with 63 earth-shattering points. Come back next week and we'll King Trivia all over the place again!
