QUIZ RECAP

The May Gray failed to overshadow the bright minds and eager guests for tonight’s brilliant episode of KING TRIVIA! While a few TV shows may be ending, our adventure at Idle Hour never will!

23 teams joined together for a spirited journey through the world of questions and answers, and we were all too happy to lead them into the fray. 

Round One helped our intrepid heroes shake off a coating of quiz dust and warm up their mental muscles. Taking an early lead were Quiz Kid Donnie Smith, Spice Girls, Breakfast All Day, and Pit Vipers.

Round Two took our teams on a tour of the country’s National Parks. Quiz Kid stepped into an earlier and powerful lead. 

Round Three’s theme wasn’t too favorable to Edgar Wright fans, but nonetheless Quiz Kid maintained their impressive lead. 

Round Four saw Breakfast All Day and Pit Vipers jump ahead into the top spot, knocking Quiz Kid aside!

Our Drinking Round was a drawing contest, challenging our teams to come up with their best interpretation of “bad dog.” With a delightful twist on “50 shades of gray,” 80085 won the free shots. 

Rounds Five we started horsing around with a Find the Connection riddle. While no one had the equestrian knowledge to take the whole derby, Pit Vipers managed to snag the top spot!

Round Six was all about Meryl Streep, which as it turns out was a group speciality for Spice Girls. With a risky double, they managed to jump into a slim lead. 

Round Seven ended with a tie for second and third, and after a brief and congenial SUDDEN DEATH, we had our scores.

Our winners for the night were Spice Girls, Breakfast All Day and Pit Vipers.

QUIZ RECAP

The Frozé machine rumbled and churned, spinning up a vermillion concoction that satisfied every overworked customer in the bustling Idle Hour Bar. They were tired from work, commutes, and the general ennui of modern life…but they were still AMPED AS ALL GET OUT for some King Trivia!

23 team braved the overcast and near-perfect 68 degree weather to enter the barrel-shaped battlefield for a chance to win one of three incredible prizes.

Round One was a solid warm up, but our teams were feeling a bit apprehensive. Only two risked the double, which led to a tie for Legless Hippos and The Bugle.

Round Two came down to which team had ever watched an Elvis movie. Turns out…not that many! Legless took the lead and seemed unstoppable. 

Round Three was a tricky new round that threw veterans and newbies alike. Legless risked a double and missed opening the ground for Three Cool Boys with a tie.

Round Four saw Bandurwagon and Bad News Cear Bears use their knowledge of veteran comediennes to snag a tie in third. 

Our Drinking Round challenged our teams to come up with their best Laffy Taffy jokes. With an incredibly timely and touching joke, Bugle took the free shots! “What do you call it when QM Adam naps? His Idle Hour!”

Rounds Five wasn’t too hard to piece together, and quite a few teams locked in the connection. But only Frugs had the forethought to throw it all on the line for a third place spot. 

Round Six set up the cards for a final showdown, with Legless in the lead, followed by Cool Boys and Bad News. 

Round Seven ended up being the deciding round, with no needs for tie-breakers or moderators. The top spot won by a SINGLE POINT!

Our winners were decisive, humble, and model-attractive.

QUIZ RECAP

The heat is on. Spring in the Valley started with a sweltering wave of brain-melting temperatures. But things are always hot (and minds are always on fire) at Idle Hour every Tuesday night. That’s right, it’s time for more…KING TRIVIA!

28 teams joined us in our barrel-shaped bar for the best trivia show in all of NoHo.

Round One is normally and easy venture for our seasoned veterans, but only a few chose to risk it all for a quick double: Quiz-Team-A Aguilera, Agents of the Zeitgeist, ODEON, and Breakfast All Day.

Round Two was a strip down memory lane, looking at some of the classic comics of the Sunday paper. While a few teams recognized the majority of 2D stars, only Agents of the Zeitgeist had the numbers to take the lead. 

Round Three was a flip for the for which entity has the silliest names:  Dr. Seuss or Cricket. Breakfast All Day knew their Wockets from their Wickets and took the top spot. 

Round Four was too easy, as most of our teams are sovereign citizens of Flavortown, and the scores didn’t move. 

Our Drinking Round served as a reminder that the best stories begin with great writing, so pay artists what they’re worth! But also, we talked about famous movie and awarded Bad News Care Bears the free shots! 

Rounds Five, Six, and Seven were a scrum and a half. While Breakfast All Day took their lead and never looked back, the second and third spots were hotly contested. Quiz-Team-A and Kingbeez danced in third and second, birthday guests in The Dog snuck close to the silver spot, and ODEON nearly snuck away with a big win. But in the end, after a major tie-breaker, we had our winners.
