QUIZ RECAP

The rain couldn't keep the teams away from this epic showdown. With the defending champions seated close to the main table, this QM could smell the blood in the air. We were ready for a showdown, and King Trivia always brings the heat.

Right out the gate, teams were jockeying for position. Round one ended with multiple ties. Round two saw five teams locked in the same spot. Each subsequent round culled more and more from the herd, separating the champions from the spectators.

Things got interesting in our Appetizer Round. Since it was National Mario Bros Day, we cranked some 8-bit tunes and let every team play for the coveted tray of potato pancakes. Newbies Topsy Scurvy stole the show and snacks, hopefully providing them the carbs needed to win the game.

It all came down to Round 7. With Steinbecks stealing the lead in the penultimate turn, Gruesome Twosome pulled out everything for a Hail Mary double down...and it worked! They took the top spot by 5 points and won the game.

QUIZ RECAP

Super Tuesday at Rasselbock meant an intimate evening with veteran teams. While the rest of the city got down and dirty with their civic duty, we were knocking back seven rounds of intense trivia action.

Gruesome Twosome came to defend their two-week title, but vets Heroes of Canton and Tits McGee (under the name Go Bernie) brought their A game for a fierce competition.

Things started off slow, with two newbie teams throwing their hats in the ring for a few low-scoring rounds. One team, dubbed Cheaters, decided they needed to use their phones and opted to bow out. Team 2, going by Ballz, had to leave early for work. This left our 3 vets to play for all the marbles.

The separation came in Round 6, when Gruesome Twosome demonstrated that some niche knowledge is all you really need to succeed in life (or at least trivia). Their double down--the only one of the night--put them too far ahead of the competition for anyone to catch up.

That left Bernie and Canton to go head to head in a tie-breaker, guessing what exactly a "high scoring season" would be in Soccer. With the closest guess, Bernie took second place!

QUIZ RECAP

Fat Tuesday at Rasselbock! This was a momentous occasion, with costumes and big band music and epic floats parading down the street! Or rather, it would have been if anyone had gotten the memo. Sadly, that left just our QM Adam dressed for the night.

Luckily, that didn't put a damper on our amazing teams as they arrived to duke it out for the King of King Trivia. Veterans Heroes of Canton and Gruesome Twosome arrived to claim the top spot, while newbie teams entered with nothing but vim and vigor and a few boots of beer.

As it was Fat Tuesday, a special bonus was awarded to any player that consumed an entire boot of beer by the end of the game. Only one team attempted, and just barely crossed the finish line (that's 32 oz of Rasselbock gold!)

Things really took off at Round 4, when a trio of competitors arrived and decided they wanted in on the competition. Despite a hefty deficit, they managed to rise into 4th place by the end of the game.

Gruesome Twosome secured their victory by Round 6, needing only to keep pace in order to win. Heroes of Canton weren't deterred, laying down some massive points as we rounded into the final turn.

Round 7 left many teams confounded, but enough were able to scratch together answers that we were nearly faced with a tie.

When the smoke cleared, Gruesome Twosome took first, followed closely by Heroes and Dirty Pickles.

It was a banner night, and one of many to come as we enter the Spring Season of King Trivia at Rasselbock. Join us next Tuesday at 9pm!
