The final week of Oktoberfest kicked off with the necessary fanfare. Drums, trumpets, a 10-piece accordion-heavy band...these are all things that I asked for but was not provided. This Quizmaster will be taking things up with management later.
4 teams arrived with the itch for quizzing, and their rabid enthusiasm lured in all the tables around the room. Soon we had a show of veterans versus newbies, with points flying and double-downs dropping like rain.
It quickly became apparent that one team had come to play for keeps: David Rasselbock took an early lead with a double down, but then kept that pressure the entire game. Even when faced with some of the most outlandish and daunting questions, they never blinked. It was something to behold.
On the newbie front, MC's of Trivia used their knowledge of 80's TV shows and wealthy dogs to earn a tray of the famous potato pancakes, and those carbs gave them the energy they needed to stay in the fight all the way to the final.
In the end, it wasn't even close. David Rasselbock crushed the competition with a shattering 72 points. Later, it was revealed that they were a portion of the League Champions Team of Enchantment!
All of our assembled quizzers had a blast, and some are even thinking of attending the upcoming Slasher Film event this coming Sunday.

A bold and beautiful night in Los Angeles this past Tuesday. Nearly a dozen hungry teams arrives at Rasselbock ready to battle it out for trivia glory. With bragging rights and gift cards on the line, the vibe in the restaurant went from friendly competition to serious grudge match in zero seconds flat.
Out the gate, each team took big swings for the win. Double Downs rained from the heavens, but were just as likely to sink a team's chances at victory as raise them. After several rounds of trivia, it was impossible to tell just who could win the night.
Then came the appetizer round. In the spirit of National I Love Lucy Day, we had a bonus bout of themed trivia. The potato pancakes, an the life affirming carbs, went to the Gruesome Twosome. Those last minute calories seemed to be the secrete ingredient, and suddenly the team shot ahead.
After a final round, the leader board settled into place. While it was no surprise to see frequent champions the Gruesome Twosome near the top, it was the newcomers the Stein-Becks who proved a worthy match for the night.

It was a quiet and intimate evening at Rasselbock, but that didn't stop these seven teams from coming in ready to play. When the clock struck 9, the showdown began for total trivia domination.
Veterans Heroes of Canton and High Diggers squared off against the newer foes from Gruesome Twosome and Phoebe Waller-Quiz. Newbie teams Unicorns, Tru, and Fickle Mistresses arrived hungry for victory...and the famous Rasselbock pretzels.
Every round brought a new leaderboard. GT went up early, but Canton and High Diggers refused to be left behind. Double Downs were thrown, scores leapt and fell, and suddenly we had a real soiree on our hands.
A much-needed respite came during the appetizer round. Since it was National Fluffernutter Day, we went down a journey through history to see who knew the most about the greatest sandwich ever invented. Heroes of Canton emerged victorious, earning the delicious potato pancakes.
As we reached the final round, the top three teams were within spitting distance of one another. It came down to basketball knowledge. Based on the shocked expressions when the question was asked, this would prove a challenge for every team.
In the end, Gruesome Twosome maintained their lead by the skin of their teeth, taking home the big V.
