The small games can sometimes be the most intense. With only three teams, each round brought a new leaderboard and new stakes.
Kobayashi Maru, absent last week, came to play with a roster of champion trivia masters, but I'm Not Sure How to Pronounce This Name had a title to defend, and they weren't about to give it up easily.
But it was the newcomer group, Team Random, cobbled together at the very last minute, who played with the proper motivation.
It came down to a crucial decision in Round 6, when the fresh-faced group doubled down on a risky collection of literary characters. It paid off, launching Team Random into first place for the rest of the game.
Come be a part of the action at Rasselbock, where every Tuesday at 9 PM is TRIVIA TIME!

An intimate evening at Rasselbock turned into a battle of wills as veteran team I'm Not Sure How to Pronounce This Name went up against King Trivia newbies Blindside!
Things started slow, with INSHtPTN off to a fine start against Coys, Bar Queen, and the uncertain alliance known as Meyers. After two rounds, Meyers opted to "go back home to get ready for work," leaving their six points to wither on the vine.
Coming into the appetizer, we challenged our teams to determine how many characters (letters and spaces) existed in the longest book on record "Swann's Way." Asserting their dominance once again, INSHtPTN collected a well-earned plate of potato pancakes. The other teams were visibly jealous.
Things turned moving into round 5. Newcomers Blindside had missed the first two sets of questions, but they were quickly closing the gap in points. INSHtPTN felt pressure for the first time, and they started second-guessing their answers. All at once, it was anyone's game.
Coming into the final round, an 18 point swing could have changed the landscape entirely. That, however, is not what happened. INSHtPTN easily took the lead with 37 to 20, cementing their victory and proving once again that Rasselbock is the place for the best trivia on the West Side.

The air was cool in crisp in Mar Vista for the debut of Rasselbock LA's King Trivia night! Competition started fast and fierce, with the eager competitors throwing down expert trivia knowledge.
Despite a few slow starts, the nine teams quickly established a rhythm, and soon Kobayashi Maru took the lead, followed closely by Al-Anon and A Team Has No Name.
Then came the Appetizer Round. With a plate of delicious potato pancakes on the line, competitors had to determine whether a strange creature came from Godzilla or Power Rangers. In a surprising upset, the Baywatch Star David Rasslebock took the prize!
With the kitchen closed, a few teams decided their chances of victory were cooling as well. Now down to five competitors, the game only intensified.
With all the cards on the table, Kobayashi Maru clinched their title with a two-point edge in the final round. ATHNN took second, and Al-Anon a distant third.
It was an amazing start to what will surely be the hottest spot in King Trivia history. Rasselbock hosts a game every Tuesday night at 9 PM!
