Oktoberfest is in the air, and the teams at Rasselbock are feeling the spirit. Nine groups of hungry and thirsty players showed up ready to drink beer and play trivia, and they'd already ordered their beer.

Every round was an all-out slugfest, with the top three positions trading places after every question set. It was impossible to know just how the game would end up, even going into the final few rounds.

Survey Slam was, as always, a tremendous success as an Appetizer Round treat. Players certainly knew a thing or two about Boston, although their selections for historical drinking buddies could have used another guess.

In the final round, when it was announced that Math Class was a factor, the teams joined together in groaning their dismay. This Quizmaster is not too proud to say he cackled audibly at that. Still, the questions must be asked and answers must be given.

When the dust settled after seven rounds, veteran team Heroes of Canton took the top prize, with Sassy Capri and Kobayashi Maru settling their differences with a tie-breaker question.

QUIZ RECAP

It's Oktoberfest at Rasselbock, so you know what that means: Trivia was off the chain, hook, grid--and the wagon.

9 teams arrived, from veterans to brand new groups, bringing with them a hunger for giant pretzels, delicious schnitzel, and seven rounds of quiztastic trivia.

We got things started with a few easy rounds, lulling the competitors into a false sense of security. Then we brought the heat with Round 3, letting these teams know the Revolution might not be televised but it would certainly lead a mark.

The Appetizer Round included a brand new game based off the traditional German Koffer Packen. Team had to memorize an ever-increasing list of items going into some luggage (it's more fun than it sounds, especially after a few boots of beer). With the carbs secured for one team, we went into the back stretch.

Here, our newbies Gualala shined. They went hard after a few questions, taking risks veteran teams might not have, climbing high into the leaderboard. When it came down to the final three, they were too far ahead to catch.

In the end, however, it was the raucous and righteous group of Hunter Biden's Ukrainian Sex Party that came with the firepower to win. They took the lead in the last two rounds, holding on for the big W at the end.

QUIZ RECAP

There are few places in Los Angeles as "happening" as Rasselbock on a Tuesday night. The crowd was alive with a crackling energy, cheering after every round, celebrating each others' victories, and talking some sweet smack. It was bound to be a great night.

With four veteran teams and a powerhouse newcomer, the trivia began in earnest. High Diggers led the pack with an astounding Double Down (the only one of the night), leaping far ahead into first. However, holding that lead would prove nearly impossible. Soon, every team clamored back into scoring position.

A surprise Survey Slam round led to a tray of delicious potato pancakes making the rounds, as the winners chose to donate the carbs to the room. This may have been a mistake, as the winners didn't have the caloric intake to sustain their lead.

As Round 7 approached, Sassy Mali took ahold of first place by the skin of their teeth. It was a set up for a showdown of epic proportions.

Round 7 proved to be the most difficult of all, with most teams barely scraping together three or four points. This led to a leaderboard separated by inches.

In the end, Sassy Mali took the grand prize, with High Diggers and Heroes of Canton coming up just behind them.
