About Scuttlebutt Taproom & Brewery

 

Founded by Phil and Cynthia “Scuttle” Bannan in 1996, the idea started as a homebrewing kit for Father’s Day 1990. As thoughtful as the gift was, it was also a source of strife – Scuttle wanted to use the kitchen for preparing meals for the family while Phil was crowding her out in favor of homemade beer. To maintain marital bliss we decided to move out of the kitchen and into a larger operation. A business plan was established in 1995 and we grew our operation from 5 gallon buckets to a 20 barrel system.

 

We brewed our first beer on July 4, 1996 with a 20 barrel system in the brew house, two 20 barrel fermenters and one 20 barrel bright tank. We brewed three styles of beer and finished out that first year with 170 barrels sold. Since then our capacity has grown and we have broadened our product line to include more than 20 styles of hand-crafted ales and lagers.

 

After more than 20 years Scuttlebutt Brewing Company remains family owned and independent.

What a fun competitive night of trivia. All teams had a blast tonight.

Bar Tops opened strong getting perfect scores in the first two rounds and doubling in the second round.

They were able to hold the lead until Super Mario Party Llama's doubled up in the fifth round to take the lead and not look back.

Bar Tops was able to hold off Pedro for the second spot. Pedro is requesting no more Marvel or DC comic categories.

I hope to see everybody again next week.

Tuesday night trivia at Scuttlebutt is where everybody has to be. Fun exciting games and good cold beer.

The reigning champs Suck it Trebek split apart this week. Will the core of the team still remain on top?

Round 1 had General Herpes doubling and taking an early lead.

Bar Tops decided to they wanted to risk doubling it in the second round with their vast knowledge of South Park characters and the gamble paid off. They were tied for first after two rounds.

Round 3 went to the Party Llamas who made a move on the leaders.

Round 4 had I'd Hit That making their move with an early guess of The Flash. Have you noticed that Suck it Trebek has not been mentioned yet?

Round 6 had General Herpes (part of the defection of Suck it Trebek) pulling away for good and leaving the battle for second left to all the other teams.

Round seven had I'd Hit That scoring a perfect round but for some unexplainable reason they did not double hence they did not came in second place where they should have. That team was the Party Llamas (They were thankful for no sports rounds this week).

When you are looking for something to do this Tuesday night, head on down to the Scuttlebutt Taproom and challenge your knowledge of trivial things that do not matter in life. Hope to see everybody soon.

What a great night if trivia. Only 5 points separating 2nd and 7th place.

Tonight was going to be another run away night for Suck it Trebek. Who is going to take this team down?

We had back and forth going al night long between the rest of the teams but after it all is was the birthday girl's Team Sierra that came in second.

Tonight was a well played night by everybody. Good luck Nate in Hawaii and we will see everybody next week.

Also, happy 21st birthday to Sierra. It was fun celebrating your big day with you.
