QUIZ RECAP

A full boat of 10 teams took to the high seas of trivia on Tuesday, but 9 teams were made to walk the plank! Plenty of lead changes, and after a middling first half, Ladies & the Tramps turned on the afterburners with two perfect final rounds, one of them doubled, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. 4 other teams were within 10 points of the winning score by game's end, so a spirited contest all around.

An interesting night at The Fountainhead! After filling in for Patrick on 2/16 at LVL Up in Campbell, I was cleaned out of supplies and, to make things more interesting, the sound equipment didn't get transferred tonight - so we had to improvise! Blank sheets for all, pens from home - and we found an old, school-principal-style mic hooked into the PA and used house music between rounds... Kind of an exciting twist, honestly, and everybody paid attention and brought their adaptability A-game. Thanks everybody!

And boy, was it a close game. The final round was the deciding round - anybody's game up to that point. Ask My Balls seemed in a comfortable lead going in, but Automating America's supremely confident gamble paid off, with the successful double vaulting them from 4th to 1st - by 1 point! The Drs too knew their stuff, acing the round, but unable to pull the trigger... leaving them behind Team Kaepernick, placing in pub trivia for the first time ever. Principal Taylor out - Patrick's back next week!

9 Teams, a big and boisterous crowd at Fountainhead this Tuesday, though the play was rather conservative. The game started slow, and lead changes hinged on single points, until Ask My Balls blew away the competition on the handout round, and then even desperate round seven doubles couldn't catch them!
