About The Lab Gastropub

The science of fun and fine dining is artfully executed daily at The Lab Gastropub. Conveniently located on Figueroa Blvd., The Lab is next door to the Galen Center, across the street from USC and an easy walk to the Shrine Auditorium, the Los Angeles Coliseum and the museums at Expo Park. Our menu features a variety of pub favorites and an extensive selection of beers. The communal style seating encourages group fun. You’ll always find local sports as well as national events featured on the multiple screens throughout the restaurant. The Classroom, our private dining room, is ideal for social events and the outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy the SoCal sunshine.

It was a low key night at the Lab and the sounds of trivia superceded the normal sounds of merrymaking this wednesday. Perhaps it was the long weekend and folks still needed recovery time before delving back into the Lab's excellent IPAs (the triple is deadly delicious). In any case, the competition between veteran teams DiP, Badass, and Bears was no less fierce. Even brand new team Birthday Bitches had a great score until half the team left for other nightime activities. But it was Drunk In Public that dominated this night with 3 successful double downs for 26 extra points for a total score of 76 points! That's almost a record breaking number for the Lab, all done with a team of 2 and 2 later recruits. And second place would've gone to Gummy Bears if they hadn't doubled down in the last round. Instead they took third while Badass took second place. See you all again next week for another awesome game of King Trivia!

It was so exciting to see some new teams show up for trivia this Wednesday, but what was even more exciting was celebrating the Birthday of Champion team Drunk in Public! Thanks so much for celebrating with us! But birthday wishes alone were not enough to win trivia tonight! Mmmm Badass swept into the arena with a bang, taking 61 points and the first place prize home. Veteran teams Gummy Bears and Drunk in Public took second and third place respectively with a narrow five point margin between them only. It was fantastic to see teams sidewalk, trojan hotties, carpe trivia, and I20 come out swinging with some serious new trivia game. Can't wait to see em next week for Wednesday Trivia at the Lab!

It was a sad night as we said goodbye to Sofa King Smart's players as they headed back home after an amazing USC Summer. But as for the rest of the teams, the competition was as vicious as ever here at the Lab. Drunk in Public was knocked out of the lead but not out of the running, halting a weeks long winning streak and taking the third place prize home. New comers Niners put up a fierce battle with veteran team Gummy Bears but ultimately lost by a single point with a grand total of 63 points taking home the second place prize. Gummy Bears took the W with 64 points and established a new dominancy at the Lab as the championship regular belt changes hands. See you all next wednesday at the Lab for King Trivia!
