Happy End of Thanksgiving Weekend everyone! Hope you all had a restful, happy and trivia filled weekend, I know I did! Tonights trivia went great, thanks to all the teams for turning out (including my parents who are celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary, but don't worry they received no help from me!).
Teams started off strong with Secular Healing, Don't Worry Beyonce and Interest Only Loan successfully doubling on the first round. These teams really knew their stuff on round one, with all but one team successfully answering the 6th question with the answer Kiribati (and thank you to The Bipolar Vortex for correcting my pronunciation!). Round two asked teams to name Macy's Thanksgiving Parade float names. For answer #7, which depicts a yellow and red balloon, we saw answers like "Ugly Balloon," "Sunny the Sunfish," "Little Lionfish" and "Lionel," but the answer was "Love Flies Up to the Sky," an art piece by artist Yayoi Kusama!
During the drinking round, I asked teams "How many turkeys are killed each Thanksgiving?" We saw answers from 690,000 to 60 million and the answer was 46 MILLION. Don't Worry Beyonce was closest and took their round!
We zipped through the rounds with many teams successfully doubling multiple times, until we hit round six which was TOUGH! According to one team, this was the hardest round they had ever completed. The highest score on this round went to Interest Only Loan with 7/10. Congrats team, you may know your buildings! Lastly, the final round asked what the eight vegetables in an original V8 juice are, which led to answers such as cucumber, green pepper, bell pepper, turnip, onion, parsnip, broccoli, radish and a debate about what constitutes a vegetable!
In the end, it was between Secular Healing and Don't Worry Beyonce for the point. Guessing how many tattoos Rolf Buchholz has, Don't Worry Beyonce took the game with a guess of 365 tattoos!
