A quiet night at Boondocks means just about everyone playing got to go home with something, which is always a sweet deal! The first week of Season 10 league play was quite exciting, as everyone was duped by the gorgeous Anderson Cooper, but used their game show, demonym, and Stanley Cup knowledge to their advantage.
Hot Mess Bitches came in a few rounds too late to catch up, but they had loads of fun regardless. They will always be smarter and way prettier than that jerk Todd!
Naja was pretty new, not just to King Trivia, but to the bar trivia scene in general. They popped their trivia cherry in the best way possible -- by taking home $10 in Boondocks gift certificates, and a free drink on the Quizmaster for correctly guessing ON THE NOSE how many kilometers our beloved rover Opportunity traveled in its long 15 years on Mars. (Rest in peace, Oppy. <3)
Tequila Mockingbird and Knobheads were neck-in-neck to the top. But the Knobheads very slowly and sneakily inched ahead to take home the $30 first place prize, leaving Tequila Mockingbird with a still impressive $20 prize. I'll see you very soon, friends -- and don't forget to register your team names for that chance to win $10,000 in prizes next year, and give the Season 9 Tournament of Champions finalists Knobheads a run for their money!

Everyone came out to Boondocks to party and quiz it up, and as the coolest people in the world usually do, I showed up 15 minutes fashionably late. Wanted to feel special walking through the door and having you all stare at me. You know how I roll, yo. Quizmaster-in-Training and future Mr. Taylor Swift, Trevor, manned the fort in my brief absence, and we were happy to have him tackle a couple rounds.
Jah Love left at Round 3 after procuring 9 points, and we made it Gypsy Fuck's personal goal to top that and actually earn their fourth place ranking. Without any help from Eminem or double-down mishaps on our Smith and super sports rounds, they pulled it off by one point -- whoo!
Pretty much everyone in Hop On My Jetski was a baby (or, at least in two separate places as a sperm and an egg) when half of the World Series and Super Bowl wins took place, so tonight was not very kind to them. But they did work their butts off to earn that $10 third place prize, so no sharing with the other half of your team that neglected to show up!
Deciding the top dog was pretty much all on the shoulders of Chick-a-Fellatio, who were not only so drunk that they didn't even get the pun in their team name right, but they didn't register their team name at kingtrivia.com! Had they done so, they might've had to have a tiebreaking showdown with Knobheads, who actually dropped the ball with a double-down oopsie daisy in Round 6 (2006 wasn't even an option to choose from!). Chick-a-Fellatio will just have to settle for $20 in Boonbucks and a bruised ego instead.
Not a bad way for the Knobheads to end the night, though -- they went home with $30 in Boonbucks, and are amped up to reign supreme at this weekend's Tournament of Champions! Good luck to you guys!

It was a little warm in Boondocks tonight, but it could've been a helluva lot worse -- we could be hosting King Trivia out in the Midwest! Nothing a few ice cold 805's and AMFs couldn't handle.
Everyone had a really good night, and those double downs were in full swing, especially on all things fruity and rock 'n' roll-y. Jon, Mickey, and Austin even won free alcohol, courtesy of the Quizmaster, for having the closest guesses as to how many stray cats were in the United States (the number was 60,000,000 -- adopt your companions, y'all!).
Knobheads tried to sneak up to the top by taking a chance on Adam Levine for our Guess Who? round, and were let down by that darn Groban fellow. It may have cost them the lead, but going home with $10 isn't all that bad. The "steaks" were high between Beef Jerky Is Just A Cow Raisin and Hop On My Jetski/Son's Knee/Gnocchi, with Beef Jerky pulling ahead just by two points achieved in our golf connection and sparse state rounds.
The hardest decisions of the evening will be figuring out how to split $50 worth of prizes between 16+ people -- you guys are on your own there!
