April 3rd's trivia night at College Bar & Grill would be a game that started out with 4 teams and slowly dwindle down to 2 rounds passed. 1 of these teams, which called themselves Bippus, ended their reign after just 2, so unfortunately their points will not be counted for this game/recap. Our main contenders were I'm not picky, Heinous Anus, and Bye Bye Ferras.

In Round 1 the teams had already shown signs of a close race to $100. After including College Bar's own bonus question (Who is the first ASU Hockey player to sign an NHL contract?) Team Bippus (RIP) and Bye Bye Ferras began with a tie of 4 points, while Heinous Anus came out of Round One with 7 points and I'm not picky following tightly behind with 6 points!

In Round 2, teams I'm not picky and Heinous Anus each doubled their current total points while Bye Bye Ferras and Bippus (RIP) continued their tie with 9 points now. Unfortunately, for this quizmaster and all of College Bar & Grill, after just 2 rounds we tragically lost team Bippus. They fought hard but just couldn't take the heat.

Despite their current lead, team Heinous Anus earned the least amount of points in our Muy Caliente round although they maintained their lead with 17 points total. I'm not picky continued their close second to Heinous Anus with 16 points after Round 3, while Bye Bye Ferras had 13 points total.

Our Guess Who round seemed to be an easy answer for teams Heinous Anus and I'm not picky who both answered correctly on just the second hint, earning them each 8 points for the round! Unfortunately Bye Bye Ferras were distracted by the baseball game occurring and the conversations in the bar made an incorrect guess to who John Goodman, our favorite 6'3 panda, was and ended the round with 12 points.

According to these teams the common theme in Round 5 was New York, which while wrong, I can personally see where they were coming from. Many of these teams did well on this round, with a majority of the teams earning 7 points each! Our most interesting answers in this round were The Farmer in the Deli for being the song that contains the lyrics "hi-ho the derry-o" and Daily Mail being the British Newspaper to have existed since 1821. At the end of this round Heinous Anus continued their lead with 32 points, while I'm not picky had 31, and Bye Bye Ferras had 17 points.

Almost everyone got all of the answers correct in Round 6 which I'm sure they had no second thoughts about. In the end, the use of the Double or Nothing play made all the difference giving Heinous Anus 50 points at the end of the round. Had I'm not picky used their Double or Nothing during this round they may have won the whole game. Instead they fished this round with 41 points and Bye Bye Ferras with 25 points.

By Round 7 Heinous Anus and I'm not picky were in a fight for the death while Bye Bye Ferras went bye-bye to study their geography (aka they threw in the towels before turning in an answer sheet for this round). In a tragic twist of fate for I'm not picky decided to use their Double or Nothing this round and they missed just a single answer in the second part of round. Leaving them with just the points for registering their team and returning their pen, finishing off with 45 points. Our winners of the $100 cash prize came out to be the Heinous Anus who completed the game with 61 points total!

Congratulations to each of these games for coming out and playing! Join us next Wednesday at 8, and don't forget College Bar has begun giving out a $100 cash prize to the first place winners on the first Wednesdays of each month!

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 19104 Heinous Anus 61 2 1.000
2 19113 I’m not picky 45 1 0.500
3 Bye Bye Ferras 25 0 0.000

Wednesday evening at College Bar & Grill 3 teams challenged each other of their trivia knowledge. Our 3 teams were I'm Not Picky, Those Assholes, and Team #1 and Only!. In Round 1 our competitors were all fairly even in their scores with 2 of the teams already reaching a tie (those teams being Those Assholes and Team #1 and Only!)! These teams had their fair share of memory loss in Round 2 with the most points earned being 5 points giving Those Assholes a lead of just 1 point. These challengers also seemed to not be all too familiar with Indian culture with most teams only earning 4 points. At the end of Round 3 we had another tie between Those Assholes and Team #1 and Only! at 13 points and I'm not Picky shortly behind with 11 points. Teams I'm Not Picky and Those Assholes knew within the first few clues who our Guess Who was turning the lead to Those Assholes with 21 points and the tie turning then to I'm Not Picky and Team #1 and Only! at 17 points. The tie of those 2 teams continued into Round 5 with both having 24 points now and Those Assholes remaining in first at 25 points! A very close call across the board, the next 2 rounds would determine who would be the College Bar victors! In Round 6 Team #1 and Only smartly used their Double or Nothing which gave them 20 points for the round bringing them up to 44 points and in the lead! Those Assholes lost their place for first altogether moving them down into third with 31 points and I'm Not Picky in second with 33 points. To my personal surprise all of these teams knew most all of the NBA franchises that have never won a championship. I'm Not Picky played their Double or Nothing in this round and won the full 20 points available bringing them into first place at 55 points (including the bringing back of pens). Those Assholes also played their Double or Nothing in Round 7 but unfortunately missed one of their answers leaving them with no points in the round and finishing in third with 33 points, had they not missed that one they surely would have been the winners of last nights game. The final scores came out to I'm Not Picky with 55 points, Team #1 and Only with 53 points, and Those Assholes with 33 points.

Thank you to everyone for coming out to play last night! Join us next week where College Bar & Grill will begin a new trend of giving the first place winners a $100 cash prize which they will now be offering the first Wednesday game of every month!

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 18966 I’m Not Picky 55 2 1.000
2 Team #1 and Only! 53 1 0.500
3 18962 Those Assholes 33 0 0.000

On Wednesday evening, March 13th, College Bar had 5 teams come face to face for the battle of trivial knowledge! Our 5 teams were Bitch, I'm a Cow!, the Ball FunGuys, TIZ, the Oregonians, and the Texas Bitches. In Round 1 our teams struggled with their general knowledge with the most points earned for the round being just 3 points. Moving on into Round 2 teams Bitch, I'm a Cow! and the Ball FunGuys certainly earned a gold medal for their ability to identify all 6 of these Olympians bring them to the top 2 places with just a single point difference; having the Ball FunGuys in the lead with a total of 9 points. My guest QuizMaster, Todd, stepped in to read the questions for Round 3 giving the audience what they later determined to be the "easier questions". After Round 3 we had Bitch, I'm A Cow! in the lead with 13 points, and the Ball FunGuys now just 1 point behind with 12 total. The remaining three teams were shortly behind with the Oregonians being in third place with 7 points, TIZ in fourth with 5 points, and the Texas Bitches in last with 4 points. Due to their not-so-hot streak the Texas Bitches requested for their team not to be called out for their points and shifted into their new name of the Team Who Shall Not Be Named. Our Guess Who round proved to be the most difficult for these teams as the majority lost a point for their guesses. The only 2 teams to get the answer correct were Bitch, I'm A Cow! earning 8 points for the round and the Ball FunGuys earning 2 points. In Round 5 a majority of the teams earned most of the points available in this round, however, none were able to "finish him!" in guessing the common factor of the questions. Round 6 proved to be another tough round for all teams except Bitch, I'm A Cow! who only missed one point keeping them in the lead with 38 points. Apparently we didn't have many big fans of Julia Roberts in the building as most teams only earned a few points for the round, however keeping in line with tradition Bitch, I'm a Cow! and the Ball FunGuys raked in the most points for the round bringing them to first and second place respectively. Leaving the Oregonians at a solid third place with TIZ and Texas Bitches (aka The Team Who Must Not Be Named) each with 10 points and unable to complete a tie breaker as the Texas Bitches swiftly left the building once they had turned in their sheets. All in all it was solid night of trivia at College Bar & Grill.
