Wednesday night at College Bar & Grill 3 teams faced off in their trivial pursuit. The teams were C.B.O.D., The Bee's Knees, and Daddy Issues.

Round 1 started off fairly simple as the teams tested their general knowledge. After adding points for any registered teams The Bee's Knees was in first with 6 points, C.B.O.D. in second with 4 points, and Daddy Issues had just 1 point.

All of our teams absolutely crushed Round 2 which asked them to identify 8-bit versions of Disney Princesses. Each of the teams played their Double or Nothing in this round and each of them walked away with 16 additional points for their teams!

Round 3 was a bit more challenging as the theme this week was that every answer would also contain a question. Daddy Issues did the best in this round as they walked away with 4 points. At this point The Bee's Knees still held first place, now with 24 points, while C.B.O.D. and Daddy Issues had a tie for second with 21 points each.

Round 4 this week was a Guess Who round. The Bee's Knees were the only team to correctly guess the mystery person after our fourth clue which allowed them to earn 4 additional points. Daddy Issues were so very close in their answer but just wrong enough that they lost a point this round, as did C.B.O.D.. In the end, we were looking for Sandra Oh.

In Round 5 our teams were attempting to figure out the connecting factor in answers 1-9 in order to answer question 10. By this point C.B.O.D. had decided they did not want to play anymore and we were left with two remaining competitors. Daddy Issues really picked it back up in this round after losing that point in Round 4 and they got all except 1 answer correct, they even correctly identified the commonality in the answers as being things related to kings. By now The Bee's Knees was still in first, now with 33 points, while Daddy Issues was trailing shortly behind with 29 points.

Round 6 asked our teams to match the newborn/baby terms to their definitions. For a crowd full of people without children they did fairly well! Both teams got 6 of the answers correct.

Finally, for Round 7 our teams were asked "what are the 10 largest countries in the European Union" (not including the UK after the whole Brexit of it all). Daddy Issues was able to correctly guess 8 of these countries while The Bee's Knees only got 7 correct.

By the end of our game, C.B.O.D. was in third place with 20 points, Daddy Issues in second with 45 points, and just ahead with 46 points in first place was The Bee's Knees.

Congrats to all of our teams and thank you to everyone who came out!! Join us again next Wednesday at 8 o'clock!

Wednesday evening at College Bar & Grill 3 teams went face to face to see who knew whats what. Our teams were Pitter Patter, Big Brains and Hasan, and Darkness With A Side Of Mayo.

Round 1 tested the players general knowledge of things and seemed to be a bit of a tough round! Pitter Patter was in first with 4 points, with Big Brains and Hasan in second with 3 points, and Darkness With A Side Of Mayo in third with 1 point.

Our images in Round 2 asked the teams to identify the movies that featured the specific alien shown. Pitter Patter chose to play their Double or Nothing for this round, which ended up working perfectly for them, earning their team and additional 16 points to their score! Ferda!

Round 3's word play this week was that the questions or answers would have either the word "pin" or "needle". In this round Darkness With A Side Of Mayo chose to play their Double or Nothing, again this worked for the team's benefit and allowed them to earn 12 points!

The theme for Round 4 this week was a Guess Where. Pitter Patter and Big Brains and Hasan guessed correctly after our second clue, giving each of their teams 8 points. Darkness With A Side Of Mayo was able to get it after our fourth clue. The location we were searching for was The White House.

By now in the game Pitter Patter was still in first place now with 33 points. Darkness With A Side Of Mayo had moved their way up to second place with a total of 23 points, while Big Brains and Hasan were in third with 21 points.

Most of our teams struggled a bit with Round 5, Big Brains and Hasan did the best by earning 7 points for their team. However none of our teams were able to guess that the connection between the answers was Scooby-Doo.

I was personally very proud of all of our teams last night because every single team got all of the answers for Round 6 correct! A house full of mathematicians as they matched the math concepts to their symbols. Big Brains and Hasan even played their Double or Nothing for this round which allowed them to earn 20 points!

Round 7 asked who were 10 of the 14 U.S. Presidents that had 8 or more letters in their last names. My personal favorite incorrect answer for this round was "SlickWilly" from Big Brains and Hasan.

In the end Darkness With A Side Of Mayo took third place with 45 points. In second was Pitter Patter with 56 points. Finally, in first place was Big Brains and Hasan with a total of 59 points! Congratulations to all our teams and join us again next week!

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 Big Brains and Hasan 59 2 1.000
2 21498 Pitter Patter 56 1 0.500

At College Bar & Grill on October 2nd 3 teams fought for their claim to trivia fame. Our teams for the evening were Tasteful Tanlines, Darkness, and Character Builders and Neal.

Round 1 tested everyone's general knowledge skills. Tasteful Tanlines started off in first place with 5 points, Character Builders and Neal in second with 4 points, and Darkness in third with 3 points. Certainly a very close game to open up with!

Round 2 asked them to identify films based on the minimalist movie posters created for them. Character Builders and Neal and Tasteful Tanlines were each able to get all the films correct! Darkness was able to correctly identify 6 of the films.

In Round 3 the theme was the word "short" which would appear in either the question or the answers for the round. Certainly the most interesting question for the round asked "what fictitious character's archrival is the Purple Pieman?", the correct answer was Strawberry Shortcake. After this round Tasteful Tanlines was still in first, now with 17 points total. Character Builders and Neal in second with 16 points and Darkness in third with 12 points.

This week's Round 4 asked the teams to identify a mystery thing. Darkness was the only team who was able to correctly identify the object, and just after only a single clue had been given! The object this week was a yo-yo.

Round 5 asked our teams to find the common theme in the answers for this round. Surprisingly each team got 7 answers correct in this round, but no one was able to properly name the commonality. Two teams guessed that it was America that tied everything together, but it was actually that they all contained types of clubs. Darkness had stolen first place by this point with a total of 29 points, Tasteful Tanlines had moved to second with 23 points, and Character Builders and Neal had third with 22 points.

Round 6 told each team to match up the French-named cities to their translations. Character Builders and Neal and Tasteful Tanlines each chose to play their Double or Nothings in this round. Unfortunately they each missed at least one point and therefore did not earn any points for the round. This was a benefit for Darkness who was able to earn 8 additional points in this round.

Our final round asked the teams to name 10 of the most popular breakfast cereals based on sales figures from 2018.

In the end Darkness had secured first place with 45 points, but in a surprise twist of events Character Builders and Neal and Tasteful Tanlines each had 30 points! This meant that we had to bust out the tie breaking question to see who would win second place! The tie breaker asked, "how many minutes did Tiago Splitter play for the San Antonio Spurs during the 2011-2012 NBA season?" Tasteful Tanlines team representative had guessed 260 minutes and Character Builders and Neal had guessed 2,000 minutes. With a difference of just 18 minutes, Tasteful Tanlines had the closest number to the correct 1,121 minutes!

Join us again next Wednesday to see what's what at College Bar & Grill!
